some people...
#are just so ignorant or unaware like who raised them 🫠#i mean i also see how i might be in some situations but not like that!#so i had a football match for the club i play last weekend#and a teammate of mine spilled a drink on the floor#which ok it can happen it's fine#but then she was like if we have cleaners at the club (yes we do)?#and she did not want to clean it up herself like she meant it's their job to do that 😵‍💫😵‍💫#and i was like 'yeah but that's not cool' (to leave it like that) - not sure if she actually heard it but#and thank god another teammate also noticed and she also reminded her that she can’t leave it like that#but like???#that's so rude... just because it's their job to clean the room doesn't mean you can't be a decent human being!#(i mean i guess it would be kind of different if it happened in a supermarket then no one wants you to clean it here but... still)#clearly she never worked in customer service i suppose.#like treat those people who do these rather unpleasant jobs most don't want to do with respect#it's already hard enough and customers can be awful sometimes#also it's not even that she is like rich or very priviledged or sth. (not that that's an excuse)...#i think quite the opposite but idk did no one ever tell her this? and maybe also that she hasn't worked a lot in her life and it shows ig#sometimes i think it would do people some good to at least once in their life work in customer service...#it's a great reminder to treat others with kindness and not like that 😅

the truth || jenni hermoso x reader ||
Tumblr media
on a night out with the team, the truth comes out about your breakup with jenni.
you didn't know where to look. the room felt so tense to you. it was like every few seconds your eyes drifted over to where jenni was drinking with alexia, mapi, and leila. you had left barcelona first, so that was on you. afterwards, jenni ran away to mexico, which was much further away than you were in germany. however, you had left first, which meant everybody blamed you for the way things happened.
jenni swore up and down that she had left barcelona for reasons unrelated to you, but everybody knew that was bullshit. a drunken voicemail you had yet to delete was all the evidence you needed to call jenni a liar. apparently, your national squad teammates didn't even need to know about voicemail to push the blame on you. now, you felt like you were an outcast in the group that had once been your family.
"another please," you said to the bartender as he walked your way. the club was packed full of people in your team's circle. friends and girlfriends, including jenni's new one from mexico. she had found somebody to move on with, but you hadn't been able to get your mind off of her.
technically, the breakup had been her fault. she was the one who had come to you saying that it was a bad idea. jenni had rattled off reason after reason as to why you couldn't be together anymore. all the while, you had fiddled with the engagement ring in your pocket. you waited patiently until jenni's tirade was finished, ignoring the smell of alcohol on her breath as she ranted on and on. once that was over, you had taken the ring out of your pocket and handed it to her unceremoniously.
jenni had tried contacting you for two weeks before she gave up. the ring found its way back to you through alexia the same day that you had elected not to renew your barcelona contract. she looked disappointed, but you wondered what story jenni had spun for her. you wondered what jenni even remembered from that night because from the way that she acted, you doubted she realized who instigated the fight in the first place.
"how many have you had?" even in your drunken state, alexia's stern tone was unmistakable. you turned towards her with your new drink in hand, but once you lost the support of the bar, you nearly fell forward. alexia plucked the drink out of your hand as she caught you.
"hey, that's mine," you slurred. alexia cursed under her breath as she pulled you onto your feet. you tried reaching for your drink, nearly causing the both of you to tumble to the floor. alexia caught herself, but dropped you onto the ground in the process. you hit the ground with a heavy thud, seemingly unbothered about laying in a puddle of your spilled drink. however, you were very upset about your drink.
"jesus christ," alexia swore as you broke out into a fit of tears. she tried to pull you up onto your feet, but it was no use. you weren't moving because you didn't want to. "(y/n), get up. come on, you're making a scene."
"leave me here, it's not like any of you like me anymore." you knew that you were acting like a child, but you couldn't help it. the floodgates had opened up and everything was spilling out. alexia sighed as she motioned a couple of the more sober girls over to help her pick you up. they all managed to get you out of the club together, which had not been an easy task.
"i've never seen her like this before," you heard one of them say quietly. they all stood behind you as you sat on a bench. you could hear them, every single word as they went on and on like you weren't there.
"you don't think this is because of jenni, do you?" you were pretty sure that one was leila. alexia sighed as she looked at you, very obviously a shell of your former self. if any of them had been paying attention to you, they all would have noticed the ways that you had been changing.
"i don't know, but i'm going to get her back to the hotel. please keep an eye on jenni for me," alexia told them. she scooped you up as she helped you onto your feet, the two of you stumbling down the sidewalk together towards your team's hotel. "what happened (y/n)?"
"i drank," you muttered quietly. alexia wondered if you indulged like this often. you had been playing well at your club, but you'd been a bit sluggish during the practices earlier in the week. your name had gone from the starting xi to the reserves quickly. if you weren't careful, they'd take your name off of the roster completely. although, as alexia half-carried you, she wondered if maybe that was what you wanted.
"how much do you usually drink?" alexia asked. she was afraid of the answer. you had once been like a little sister to her, and maybe she had let her closeness with jenni distract her from the fact that she cared about you too. most of the team had followed suit and iced out the younger player because of the obvious pain that their star striker was in.
"until i don't remember anymore," you admitted. "it never works. i always remember what she said to me."
"what who said?" alexia knew the answer already. she had picked up the pieces of jenni the morning after. jenni hadn't completely opened up, but she didn't remember everything. all jenni had known that morning was that the two of you had fought and you threw a ring at her, claiming you couldn't believe you almost let yourself propose.
"jenni. i love her, and she hurt me. you don't hurt someone you love like that." you dropped down onto your knees on the sidewalk. alexia struggled to get you back up to your feet after that. she opted for not hurting herself trying to take care of you and decided to call a couple of teammates to come and get you. she had expected mapi and leila to join her, and they had shown up, but with the addition of jenni.
"oh, mi amor," jenni sighed as she saw the sight of you. internally, you were battling between running from her and running right into her arms. the part of you that wanted her won out first, and you found yourself crawling on the sidewalk towards her. your other teammates frowned at the sight, never having seen you like that for anybody. jenni knelt down and opened her arms, unable to deny you anything in the moment.
"they hate me, it's awful," you cried into her arms. jenni wrapped her arms around you as she held you. "they all hate me because you left. they think you left because i did, but i only left because you didn't want me anymore. i want you so bad it hurts, but you don't love me anymore. i want to hate you, but the only person i can hate is myself. it makes me so angry."
"i'm sorry," jenni apologized. she looked around at her teammates for help, but none of them were sure what to do. she pulled you up to your feet and handed you off to alexia and leila. they got you back to the hotel and safely tucked into mapi's bed for the night.
"jenni, who broke up with who?" mapi asked as she glanced down at her younger teammate. everybody had a few reservations whenever jenni announced to the team that the two of you were together, but they never could have imagined it go as badly as it had.
"i-i think i broke up with her. i don't really know, it's all kind of fuzzy," jenni admitted. mapi's face hardened with a look of anger. jenni knew that whatever came her way was deserved, it had been a few months coming at this point. "i wanted to make up with her, but she wouldn't talk to me. after our fight, all she said was that she was going to germany."
"for (y/n)'s sake, and yours, fix this," mapi ordered. jenni knew that she really did need to figure out a way to do that, but she had no idea where to even begin. you avoided her at all costs, and there was a good chance that a few of the younger players would keep jenni from you on their own. they may have followed in the elder players' footsteps, but leaving you behind had not been an easy decision for any of them.

Paige bueckers x reader
warnings: nsfw and my horrendous spelling and grammar inaccuracies (my ap lang teacher would be so disappointed)
not spell checked (i typed this whole thing on my phone( yes i have a computer) )
i hope yall like it
~I don’t got a single problem with provocative~
she had on a mini black skirt with ripped shear tights and doc martins
a yellow lacy tube top with stars in orange and red thread embroidered through out the top little tattoos littered her arms. an outline of a moon on her shoulder. A bow on her upper left arm, a bouquet of flowers above her elbow on her right. tiny stars coated both of her forearms. she was perfect.
~See the bodies, how they burn, it’s just the way it is~
A couple of minutes ago paige was trying to come up with some sort of excuse to tell her teammates why she had to leave this random club but then she spotted her. dancing with who paige assumed were her friends. one hand held a clear plastic cup with translucent light green liquid with a salted rim. paige felt her cheeks heat up. was it always this hot in here? paige forgot why she wanted to leave in the first place.
~ Smoky, dark, crowded room, I need nothing Under pink light in June. I was so cool, but then, all of a sudden You saw me look at you~
The room was filled with intoxicated college students trying to have a night off from the stress of their lives. today had been the last day of finals. school was officially out for the summer. everyone presumably celebrating.
“you’re staring” a voice whispered in paige’s ear
paige jumped almost spilling her drink
nika laughed patting paige’s back
“you’ve been staring at that poor girl for almost 8 minutes”
“is it that obvious?”
“yes extremely” a new voice replies
paige looks down and sees kk laughing with ice
“keep looking at her with that face and your eyes are gonna get stuck like that”
“fuck off”
“oh shit, paige she’s looking at you”
Nika elbows paige’s side.
paige turns and makes eye contact with the golden girl herself
~I burn for you and you don’t even know my name. If you’d asked me to i’d give up everything~
Paige felt her chest contract as the girl leaves the dance floor walking past paige and making her way to the bar while briefly making eye contact again and smiling. once the girl was at the bar she looked back at paige and laughed.
“stop standing there gaping like a god damn fish and go over there dumb ass” ice pushed paige towards the bar
~To be close to you pull the trigger on the gun i have you when we met~
“i’m paige” she almost shouts because of the deafening volume of the music
“i know who you are. Im pretty sure everyone at uconn knows who you are” y/n laughs
“can i buy you a drink?”
“ you don’t even know my name and you’re trying to buy me a drink? you move fast”
“ well what’s your name?”
“y/n and i like dirty shirley’s”
~I wanna be close to you. break my heart and start a fire, you got me overnight just let me be close to you~
“so what’s your major?”
“art history”
“oh what do you wanna do with that”
“i have no fucking clue”
paige laughs leaning her head against the bar holding her chest
“ok what about you? what’s your major?”
“uhm-human development and family sciences”
“ wow that sounds important. what do you want to do with that?”
paige lets out another laugh than sighs
“uh hopefully nothing i really wanna go pro”
“hey uh listen do you wanna maybe get out of here?”
“you read my mind”
~And now your mouth is moving, cinematic timing You pull me in and touch my neck, and now I'm dying~
barely making it through the threshold of paige’s apartment before her lips are on y/ns. tugging on her small tube top for dear life. paige blindly moves them towards her bedroom. they hit a couple walls on the way to their final destination. paige pushes her down on the bed before climbing over y/ns body and reconnecting their lips groaning into her mouth.
~You should be mine for life, I'll be signing
Every dotted line
Chemical override, ultraviolet
You could be mine tonight~
clothes long forgotten. two bodies grasping at each other letting out high pitched sighs and moans. paige’s hands are everywhere. groping her chest, paige slowly makes her way down y/ns body leaving a trail of love bites. taking her sweet time teasing, nipping and kissing at y/ns thighs.
“paige” y/n exhales
“say my name again” paige says again before sucking on her clit
“oh-god paige-please don’t stop”
“don’t worry ma i’m not stopping anytime soon.”
~ and i burn for you and you don’t even know my name
if you asked me to id give up everything to be close to you
break my heart and start a fire, you got me overnight
just let me be~
this was not a request i just thought this would be fun because i have been listening to secret of us on repeat for the past 48 hours

Warnings: swearing, suggestive, haven’t read through it.
Leah Williamson x !Reader:
Oh, what a night.
A roar. A roar of noise from the home fans. Them seeing the time on the score. 123 minutes have passed. The fans whistling, shouting, calling out for the referee to blow their whistle. It’s two to one, England winning. So close to win the Euros. So close to change women’s football forever. So close.
Y/n has got the ball, all she knows what to do is boot it away. Then the referee should blow. Magull, the scorer for Germany rushes towards her. However, Y/n being the calm player she is, dribbles past her. She sees Alessia running away and to the Germany goal. Even if this doesn’t reach Alessia’s feet, Y/n knows that the end. The referee will blow and they have won. She knows.
Y/n boots it over to Alessia. And, as she does the noice the players and home fans all want to hear. The screams were almost deafening. But, no one cared. Y/n crashed. Her knees gave up. She’s on the ground, her head resting on the grass that she played on for over an hour. Tears almost threatening to spill as she takes in what her and her friends have achieved.
Her felt an arm pull her up. Not caring who it was she fell right into them. Her head stuffed in the person neck. She didn’t know who it was until they spoke. “We did it.”
Smiling at the voice she lifts her head up, looking right at her. “Fucking hell Leah, i’m exhausted.”
A laughed escaped her lips as she nods her head. “Yeah, me too.” She kissed the top of Y/N’s head. Before Alessia and Ella pulled them away, joining in at the celebration with the team. The night went on. Champagne was drank. Bodies on the dance floor.
It’s now 21:34pm. Every single one of the girls were still partying harder than ever. They are now at there hotel bar. Music blasting, which everyone sung too.
Y/n goes to the bar to grab another drink. Seeing another fellow teammate there. Creeping up behind her. “Hey-“
“Fucking Christ- Y/n!”
Y/n giggled, before turning to the bartender ordering her normal drink she gets. “Sorry, Lee.”
Leah scoffs, shaking her head but smiling softly at her. “Are you?”
Y/n looked back at her, smiling back softly at her, looking around her whole face, marking Leah’s details all around her face before answering. “No, I’m not.” She pulls her eyes away from her only to grab her drink once the bartender passes it to her.
Y/n turns around to face Leah, to notice that she has moved closer to me and is staring right at me. I smile at her and she smiles back. “Hi.”
“Hey…” Leah trials off, her eyes never leaving mine. Which is common for Leah. She can hold eye contact better than Y/n staying on her own feet. “You look… gorgeous.”
Y/n instantly became red. Her eyes leaving Leah’s to compose herself. Leah has always been such a flirt and it’s has always gotten Y/n blushing like crazy. And, Leah always sees it. “I mean it, Y/n/n.” Leah mumbled.
“Stop.” Y/n whispers, placing her drink down on the table they were next too. Before sitting down on one side of the booth. “Why?” Leah asks, following Y/N’s movements. Sitting down next to her.
“You making me-“ Y/n pauses mid sentence. Slightly re-thinking the words she was about to fall out her mouth, before sighing looking back at Leah. “Making me want to kiss you.”
“And that’s a problem how?” Leah asks, her right hands brushes up on Y/N’s cheekbone. “I’ve always had trouble finding how I’m feeling. Especially when it comes to girls.” Leah whispers.
“But, with you- I don’t know, it just makes sense.” Leah mutter, her eyes trying to find Y/N’s as she keeps looking at the floor. “Look at me, please.”
Y/n immediately looks up, her breath hitching as her eyes connect with Leah’s. Leah continues to talk in an effort to open her feelings. The feelings she’s been feeling for a little while.
“I knew my feelings for you while I was still in a relationship with Jordan. That was one of the reason’s we broke up.” Leah murmurs, now both of her hands cupping her cheeks now fully making sure Y/n doesn’t pull or look away.
“You have feelings for me?” Y/n asks, her eyes soften. Her eyes now fully never leaving Leah’s. Fully concentrated on the conversation and confession. “So fucking much.” Leah whispers.
There faces are closing in closer and closer. Like a moth to a flame. Moth is them and the flame the other’s lips.
“If- we shouldn’t do this here. Someone could be filming and it could be on the internet.” Y/n mumbles, her eyes never leaving Leah’s lips. “Yeah…” Leah trials off. “But, I don’t care.”
The hands cupping Y/N’s cheeks, suddenly pulls her in. Their lips meeting eachother’s perfectly. Y/n froze just for a few seconds before her hands came out to wrap around Leah’s waist. Her lips moving in sync with Leah’s. The kiss was slow, but gradually sped up as their hands wander over the other’s body.
Loads of thoughts rushed into Y/N’s and Leah’s head. The main one was the kiss and how gentle and loving the other kissed. But the one that was a problem was the aftermath. Either of them pulled away though. It could easily be the alcohol speaking.
Leah started to move forward, the legs intertwined together. Straddling almost. They hand’s which, Leah’s around Y/N’s wait and Y/n hanging round Leah’s neck. Leah gently bits down on Y/N’s bottom lip making her grunt, opening her mouth. She slips her tongue into Y/N’s mouth.
Before anything more could happen. Whistles from afar could be heard. Y/n was the one to pull away as Leah couldn’t care less. Y/n looks over to see some of her teammates looking over to them.
“Oi! Get a room!” Mary yells, laughing along with Alessia and Ella. Leah rolls her eyes but gradually takes Y/N’s hand. Pulling her up. “Gladly.” Leah yells back, flipping Alessia and Ella off as they made kissy jokes.
Leah grabs her bag off Ella who winked before walking down the hallway trying to find her room. Once she does she grabs her keycard from her bag, swiping the card she rushing into the door her hand never letting go of Y/n’s
“Leah-“ she gets shut up by Leah pushing her up against the door and a pair of lips meeting hers. Moaning into the kiss, Y/n arms wrap around Leah’s next again, pulling her closer.
Leah then trials her kisses to Y/N’s neck. Kissing the skin gently but with a little bit of aggressiveness. Y/n tilts her head back, enjoying the feeling of Leah’s lips on her body. Her right hand holding Leah in place. Not wanting her to stop.
“No hickeys.” Y/n mumbles, but knowing Leah won’t care about that and that she will proudly leave quite a few. “Oh, god.”
Leah’s lips trails up to Y/N’s ear whispering. “Bed, baby.” Y/N’s knees nearly folded.
Y/n pushes her chest forward, making her bad Leah walk backwards. Once Leah’s let’s touch the bed, Y/n pushes her onto it.
Leah pushes back into the bed, before grabbing Y/n by the waist bringing her down won’t her. Y/n now straddling Leah.
Leah hold her in place, biting her lips. “Fuck, you’re so beautiful.”
Y/n smiles softly at her before leaning down to kiss her again. Leah’s hands immediately move up to her head, keeping her in place.
Y/n gradually moved her hips back and forth. To which Leah groans to. “Fuck, baby.” Her hands now back on Y/N’s waist, helping her move. “Gosh.”
The night was wonderful for the two. They won the euros, they finally confessed their feeling and felt something they haven’t for a while.
And let’s just say Mary and Ella who is right next door to them the whole night, didn’t get any sleep whatsoever.

This one does have hockey RPF in it. Not your thing? Look away now/don’t interact with this one.
I wrote this in one day. Yes, I wrote all 3.7K of this fic in one day (thanks GoogleDocs! LOL).
For @hockeyboysarehot, who requested “ya bords x reader!female and to be kent’s twin sis. then us being on the d-line w luke and pow”. Hope I did it justice. :) (and if not, let me know, and I will gladly change it up if needed; I kind of neglected the hockey part of it- oops!)
Author’s note: TWs: underage drinking/partying (briefly mentioned), a super overprotective brother (sorry I made him out to be kind of an asshole), mentions of sex- all parties are over 18.
Title stolen from Maroon 5′s “Secret”.
***
Growing up, you and your twin brother Kent had done everything together, including playing hockey. You had thought that was going to change when you went to college. Kent had fallen in love with the campus at the University of Michigan immediately; you weren’t quite as quick with the love, but when you went to the game at Yost, you were drawn in. Even if you couldn’t play on the ice, you’d be there supporting your brother every chance you could. Then the NCAA had instituted a “one girl on the men’s team and one man on the girl’s team rule”, and you suddenly found yourself as the one girl on the Michigan men’s hockey team (thanks to Kent’s stellar sales pitch and your great tryout). It was nice to be playing hockey again.
Kent had always treated you as an equal, and the other boys had quickly taken a liking to you. You played defense, and you found yourself splitting playing time between Owen Power and Luke Hughes. Whichever line you were on, the other team didn’t stand a chance. Coach liked to mix it up too, so sometimes you spent the whole game with one d-partner, other times, you switched mid-game, and sometimes, it was shift-by-shift.
As the season got going, Kent reminded you of his one rule- you were not allowed to date any of his teammates. That had been easy, until Thomas Bordeleau came crashing into your life- literally.
You had been at one of the parties hosted at campus; Matty had gotten you a drink, and you’d been working on it all night long. You were content just to hang out in the corner and watch the party unfold (parties weren’t really your scene), but Briss had decided you were being “a stick in the mud” and pulled you onto the dance floor. Kent had given you a thumbs up, so you allowed yourself to relax. Brendan was super sweet too and was always looking out for you.
You danced a couple songs with Brendan and then told him you’d had enough; he’d taken you back over to the drink table. You had just turned around with your drink when someone crashed into you, spilling your drink down the front of you.
“Shit! Sorry!” You looked up to find none other than Thomas Bordeleau standing in front of you, apologizing profusely. “Oh my gosh, y/n, I’m so sorry.”
“Bords, it’s ok. It was an accident.” You said, looking at Bords. He’d clearly had a couple drinks, but he wasn’t too tipsy yet.
“Here, take my jacket.” He said, peeling off his jacket and handing it to you.
“Bords, I don’t need your jacket, but thank you.” You said, looking over at Kent, who had an eyebrow raised.
“Please, sweetheart, just take it.” The term of endearment slipped out before he could stop it. “I feel really bad.”
“Fine.” You said, sliding it on. “My brother’s coming over here. Just let me do the talking, ok?”
“What’s going on over here?” Kent asked, looking between you and Bords. “Why is my sister wearing your jacket?”
“Thomas accidentally ran into me and spilled my drink all over my shirt,” you said, showing Kent the drying soda stain on your shirt. “It’s just until I can get home. I was planning on heading out soon anyway.”
“Alright. I’ll take you home.” Kent said. “Just let me tell Owen I’ll be back.”
“Kent, I can walk home by myself.” You tried to protest; Kent had always been overprotective of you, and sometimes while it was nice, other times (like tonight), it was annoying. You could handle yourself, thank you very much.
“Let me, please?” Kent asked. “I just want to make sure you get home safe.”
“Fine.” You weren’t going to tell Kent your roommate was gone, or he’d probably try to stay the night. “Night Bords. See you tomorrow at practice.”
“Night.” You and Kent left, and when you got home, you fibbed and said your roommate was working late and would be home later. Kent seemed to buy it, and after he left, you changed into your pjs. You definitely were intrigued by Bords, and you thought what harm could come from giving him your number. That wasn’t breaking Kent’s rule. You took of Bords’ jacket and slipped a piece of paper into the pocket with your number and a text me! :) on it.
The next day, you made sure to give Bords his jacket back in the presence of Kent. “Thanks again.” You said. Kent nodded approvingly and as soon as he left to hit the ice, you whispered to Bords, “check the left pocket”, and walked out of the locker room.
That had begun a secret relationship; it had started as texting, but the more you two communicated, the more you found you had in common. Trying to find a way to have a date without Kent meddling in everything had been challenging, but Owen (who had figured things out pretty quickly, and kept your secret) had helped you out there-he had insisted Kent come out for a movie with him (and you knew it was because Owen had a crush on your brother, and you knew Kent liked Owen-you felt a little like the pot was calling the kettle black- it was ok for him to have a relationship with a teammate, but you couldn’t?) and that bought you and Bords a couple hours to go out to dinner and have a nice time.
You started sitting closer to Bords more than before, when Kent called you out on it, you always had an excuse- “we’re binging “Euphoria” together, “I was actually talking to him about a class assignment”-and the one time you sat next to Bords (holding his hand under the blanket), Briss and Matty (who had figured things out and were helping run interference) had kept Kent occupied with hockey questions so he didn’t have time to focus on you and Bords.
Right before the Olympics, Bords looked at you one day after practice, before Kent got into the locker room. “I want to tell him.”
You slapped a hand over Bords’ mouth. “No!”
Bords looked at your wild eyes and quickly backtracked. “Alright.” He softened a little. “I’m just tired of hiding.”
“Me too.” You quickly moved away as you heard your brother approaching. “I’ll text you later, ok?” You said, making a beeline out of the locker room.
Then came the Olympics. You were the proud sister- you were so happy for Kent and Owen. You were also proud of Matty and Briss. You knew Bords was bummed about not being picked, but he definitely wasn’t complaining- especially when you were spending almost every moment with him. This was nice to not have to hide. You still knew what would happen if Kent found out though.
Truss was letting you stay over at their place (a compromise with Kent. As far as Kent knew, you were sleeping on the couch; in actuality you were sleeping in Bords’ bed), and he was giving Kent updates on things.
You almost blew it the one time you answered the FaceTime call from Bords’ room; thankfully Owen was there too and distracted Kent long enough for you to bolt downstairs to the couch. If he noticed anything, Kent didn’t say a word.
You made sure to watch all of the boys’ games (usually with Bords and Truss; Kent had gotten a couple pictures from Truss of the three of you-in the first one, you were in between the boys, and after he received the reply, he frowned and said, “switch me spots for a sec”. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out; you plastered on a smile and Truss sent the new pic to Kent, and then you resumed your spot in the middle).
Unfortunately, both Canada and the US weren’t going to be playing for medals, and that meant the boys were going to be on their way home soon. You figured you still had a couple days before that happened, so you were still a little lax on your “hiding things” mode. Which ended up being when all hell broke loose.
You had just come back into the locker room (you had a separate area to shower and change). The boys had all gotten dressed in their suits already, and you were just buttoning your suit jacket when you sat by Bords and rested your head on his shoulder. That’s when you heard the “What the hell is going on?!” You looked up to find your brother looking between you and Bords, and oh shit!
“Kent!” You started. Luke and Blanks started getting everyone out; Matty, Briss, Truss, and Owen stayed back. Matty and Truss came to stand by you, Briss went to Bords, and Owen went to Kent.
“How long?”
You stared down your brother. “Since the party.” You admitted. “It wasn’t planned, but it happened.”
“I had one rule. One fucking rule.” He said.
“You know, you think you’d be happy for me. At least you know him. And he likes me for me. He’s not just wanting to ‘bag the hot girl who plays hockey with the boys’. He’s sweet and caring.” Now that you were on a roll, you couldn’t stop. “You know, he wanted to tell you so many times, but I wouldn’t let him. Because I knew this is how you would react.” You felt tears sting your eyes. “I know you think you’re helping, but you’re not. I’m my own person, and I’m a grown ass woman. I can make my own decisions. I don’t need your approval. I just need my brother to be there for me and trust me.” You broke free of Matty’s grip and went barreling out of the locker room, Matty and Truss trailing after you.
“Way to go asshole,” Bords said. “You know, I have a sister too. And while I want to protect her, I also know she has to feel like she doesn’t have to hide things and she can talk to me about anything. Come on Briss, I’m done here.” Briss and Bords left, and it was just Owen and Kent in the room.
“I fucked up, didn’t I?” Kent asked, sitting down on the bench.
“Honestly? I know you don’t want to hear it, but yes.” Owen said, expecting the glare he got from Kent. “I understand it, babe, I do. Think about it- you told her she can’t date a teammate, but here you are dating me.” Owen sat down by Kent. “You know, I actually hung out with them one time together. He treats her well. Really. She definitely could have done worse. Plus, I’m sure Bords knows you would beat the shit out of him if he ever hurt her, so there’s that.” Owen said.
“I want to go talk to her.” Kent said. “I need to talk with her.”
“Let’s go home tonight, ok? We’ll do it in the morning when we’ve all got clear heads.”
“No. Tonight.” Kent said. Owen sighed and fired off a text to Matty warning them that Kent wanted to come over.
When he arrived at the house, Kent was a little unprepared for what he saw. Truss was in the hallway between the two rooms, and he fixed a glare on Kent. “I’m making sure they don’t see each other, don’t worry.”
“Huh?”
“Briss and Bords are in Bords’ room, and Matty’s with your sister in his room. I’m the one to make sure that no one sees each other.”
“Can I talk to her?” Kent asked. Truss went and knocked on the door. Matty came and opened it, and Kent could hear your sniffles. Truss whispered something to Matty, who’s gaze hardened. He went back into the room for a minute, and then Kent heard footsteps. He got his hopes up for a minute, until you came to the doorway.
“Go away. I don’t want to see you.”
“I just want to talk.”
“Well, I don’t. Go home Kent.” With that, you slammed Matty’s bedroom door shut.
“You heard her. Let’s go home.” Owen said. “Come on.”
“Take care of her Truss.” Kent said, “Please.”
“I will. You know that. Now go before I escort you out.” It was in that moment that Kent realized how much all his teammates had your back and would protect you.
*
In the morning, you were still feeling like crap; Matty had tried to get you to eat something, but you weren’t hungry. You just wanted last night to be a dream, but looking at all your missed texts, you knew it wasn’t. “Matty…” you said. “That... that really happened. It wasn’t supposed to happen like that.” Your tears started again.
“I know.” He said, hugging you tight. “I know it wasn’t, sweetie. Come on though, you need to at least shower. I wouldn’t put it past your brother to come over again today.”
You groaned. Matty was probably right. “Ok. Can I talk to Bords?”
“Let me check with Truss and Briss, ok?” Matty said. “You take your shower and we’ll have an answer when you come out.”
When you came out, feeling a little more human, you found Bords sitting on Matty’s bed. “Hi honey.” He said; you could tell he’d been crying all night too from his red, puffy eyes. “I’m sorry about last night.”
“You have nothing to be sorry about.” You said. “I’m sorry. My brother is an asshole.”
“He is.” Bords laughed. “But I get it. I’m pretty sure I’d go all ‘brother bear’ on whoever wanted to date my sister. But, I’d trust her too. I get it if you need to break up with me.”
“And let him win? No fucking way.” You said. “He’s going to have to deal with us, whether he likes it or not. I’d rather not have a brother instead of losing the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“You mean that, sweetheart?” He asked, eyes wide. He knew how much Kent meant to you.
“I do.” You said, grinning as he tackled you in a hug back on the bed. You were both lying there when there was a knock on the door and Truss poked his head in. “Are you up to seeing Kent?” He asked.
“Yeah.” You said. “He can come up.” Truss raised an eyebrow at you, but grinned.
“Alright.”
You and Bords sat up on the side of the bed. You again leaned into his side. “Here we go.” You said, as there was the knock on the door. “It’s open!”
For the second time in two days, Kent walked in to find you with Bords. This time however, he didn’t fly off the handle. “Can I come in?” He asked, standing in the doorway.
“Yeah.” You were still pissed at him, but you’d at least give him a chance. You owed him that much. “You can sit in the chair over there.”
“I’ll go.” Bords said, suddenly feeling awkward in the situation. He looked between the two of you. “This is a family situation.
“Stay.” You and Kent said at the same time; you grabbed Bords’ hand, holding him in place.
“I want to start by saying I’m sorry.” Kent said. “To both of you. Bords, what you said last night made me realize that I needed to trust my sister more and always support her, even if it’s hard or uncomfortable.” Kent turned to look at you. “Sis, I’m sorry. If you’re happy, it shouldn’t matter who you’re dating. Even if it breaks my rule. You’re right. You can- and should be able to- make your own decisions. It’s going to take some work, but I’ll do my best to support you and put my feelings aside.”
You stood up and went over to Kent. “I love you. That’s all I can ask.” You hugged him. “I’m assuming Owen also gave you a talk?” You grinned, knowing already he had (Owen had texted you all about it).
“He did. So did Briss, even though he didn’t have much stake in the game. Bords there gave a pretty impassioned speech, and Matty ripped me a new one. I’m also pretty sure Truss was going to beat me up if I didn’t leave.” That caused you to chuckle a little; Truss was the most mild-mannered one of them all. “They’ve got your back, and it made me realize they’d always be looking out for you, and that I should be too.”
“I forgive you.” You said, walking back over to sit by Bords. “I’m assuming there’s going to be some ground rules though?”
“Yeah.” He chuckled. “I was thinking though- we should do this at my place. If I have ground rules for you and Bords, it’s only fair you have a set of rules for me and Owen too.” He said. “Equals?”
“Equals.” You said. “Bords, what do you say? Do you feel like going to my brother’s and getting the rules and shovel talks out of the way?”
“I’m in if you are. Babe. ” He grinned, looking at Kent. “Um, are pet names ok?“
“We’ll talk about that.”
*
Owen had given you a hug when you’d come in the door; you’d whispered a “thank you” in his ear, knowing he’d probably been the one who had the most impact on Kent- Owen had always been willing to go to bat for you.
The talks went about as well as they could; it was awkward talking about relationships (and mentioning your sex life) with your brother, your brother’s boyfriend, and your boyfriend, but you made it through. Kent had even relented a little and said that you two could sit on the plane together as long as no “funny business” happened (hand-holding was ok though).
And Bords was able to call you “babe” in front of everyone else- “honey” and “sweetheart” got saved for private moments. You didn’t mind though.
The rest of the team crushed you in hugs when you and Bords announced that you were dating.
The next season, Kent surprised you (and Bords and Owen as well) by saying the four of you should all get a house together. Once you knew he was serious, you ran over and gave him a hug. “Thank you.”
“Of course sis.”
*
Bords had been acting a little off lately; you looked to Owen, who hadn’t been much help. You really didn’t want to, but you finally went to Kent. “Kent? Bords is acting weird, and I don’t know what’s going on. Can you talk to him?”
“I will.” Kent promised (already knowing what was going on; Owen did too- he was keeping the secret as well). “I got your back sis.”
You finally got your answer the night you won the Big 10 championship. There was a locker room party in full swing when Bords had Matty cut the music. “I know we’re all celebrating hockey, but I think we need to celebrate something personal too.” You barely had any time to react before Bords was on his knee in front of you. “Before you say anything, Kent was fully aware this was going to happen,” he said, causing everyone to chuckle.
“Yes.” You said, before he could even get out the speech he had planned. “The answer is yes.”
“I had a whole speech.” He laughed. “Do you want to hear it?”
“Not really.” You grinned, “Not in front of everyone anyway.” You smirked, knowing he would be on the same page.
“Oh. And that’s our cue to leave.” He grabbed your hand after sliding the ring on.
“Bords!” Kent’s voice caught the two of you off guard. You both turned around, unsure of what was coming next. When Kent realized he had both of your attention, he said, “Have a good time. Bring her back in one piece in the morning. And for god’s sake, use protection. I am too young to be an uncle!”
“Kent!” You squeaked out, face turning red. You laughed though. “You too. You might not be able to knock each other up, but wrap it before you tap it.” You grinned as Kent turned red like a tomato. Even Owen had a pink flush tinting his cheeks, and the locker room was erupting in laughter. You turned to Bords. “I got that right, didn’t I?”
Bords was laughing so hard he was wheezing. “Yes, you did sweetheart. Perfect delivery too. Come on, let’s go home.” He reached out his hand to you.
Home. You liked the sound of that. Home was wherever Bords was. You took his hand and waved to everyone as you left.
Later on, when you were tangled in the sheets together, almost asleep, Bords gave you the speech he had planned on giving in the locker room. While it was sweet, you were glad that only you two got to share the moment together.
“I’m so glad you crashed into me at that party.” You said, running your hand through his hair, closing your eyes.
“Me too, mon amour.” Bords said. “Je t’aime.”
“Je t’aime.” You said back. Bords had been teaching you some French. “I love you so much.”
“Je t’aime.” Bords said one more time, giving you a kiss goodnight, and then started running his hand through your hair and speaking French to you, knowing it would put you to sleep.
In the morning when you woke up, there was a bouquet of flowers at the bedside and a note telling you to meet Bords at Yost.
You went there and found the whole team in the locker room, where they threw you and Bords an engagement party (which, Matty told you, was all Kent’s idea).
Owen pulled you aside during the party. “I know you are generally supposed to ask the father for permission, but I think your approval is more important.”
“Oh Owen, of course, yes.” You said, giving Owen a tight hug. “You make my brother happy, which makes me happy.”
You were definitely glad both you and Kent had violated Kent’s “no dating a teammate” rule.

fitting in
bucky x reader
summary: an unfortunate series of events or Bucky Barnes tries to fit in at the compound
warnings: some talk of sex, fluff, curse words, awkwardness

Tumblr media
To say Bucky’s glad to have Steve would be an understatement. He’s delighted and overjoyed to have a best friend, a brother who never gave up on him, who saved him, who brought Bucky to the compound, a place he calls home and introduced him to his teammates, the people Steve wholeheartedly loves. Steve’s family in a way. Bucky’s happy for Steve, he really is, but sometimes he feels jealous, and sometimes, he cannot help, but wonder how would it feel like to fit in, to have the same friendships Steve has with the others. He’s drinking his morning coffee when y/n comes into the kitchen at 6:03am. She rubs her sleep painted face, and he smiles, offering to make her a cup. Grateful, she sits down, watching him try and figure out the espresso machine. He, himself, never uses it, preferring to make coffee the 1940s way, with a kettle and coffee grounds, but he remembers y/n making a disgruntled face every time Steve hands her an old-fashioned cup of coffee, and so even though he doesn’t understand how the machine works, he’s modern enough to know that pressing the ‘black coffee’ button will make her a cup she’ll actually like. He doesn’t say anything when she pours, what seems like, half a bottle of creamer, either, even if he doesn’t understand it. She smiles after taking a sip, and it brightens Bucky’s heart. Ironically, he’s always more careful around y/n, because she’s the nicest, and she made him feel welcome from day one. Bucky doesn’t want to lose her trust. He smiles to himself when she pats a chair, inviting him to sit right next to her, and he gladly accepts it, sitting down so close, their arms brush against each others. Neither speak up as they drink their coffee in comfortable silence, and watch as the rising sun paints the sky in warm orange and golden hues. He puts his mug down, studying her as she closes her eyes, relishing in the warmth coming through the window, and strangely, he feels more content than he did in the last 70 years. But then she suddenly opens her eyes, startling Bucky and he accidentally moves his arm, in turn knocking his cup down, and the boiling beverage spills down y/n’s old t-shirt. Wide-eyed, he start mumbling something along the lines of sorry and it was an accident, but she puts a hand on Bucky’s shoulder, and slightly smiles at him before disappearing from the kitchen. A sight makes its way past his lips and Bucky lets his head fall down, forehead hitting the hard marble.
Embarrassment washes over him again when he and Steve enter the gym for their 12pm training session, and he sees her. y/n’s standing in the boxing ring, having changed out of the t-shirt into a more sparring appropriate outfit of a workout bra and leggings. “Ready to get your asses kicked, boys?” She laughs, the sound of it coming teasing and sweet. Rolling his eyes, Steve puts a hand on Bucky’s shoulder when they walk up to the girl.
“I’m not fighting today, but I’m sure Bucky’s ready.” Bucky smiles timidly upon hearing Steve’s voice and straightens his shoulders. He nods his head, throwing his towel to the side, and chooses to climb up into the ring from the side instead of using the stairs. Bucky’s tall, so it’s easy, and y/n playfully rolls her eyes when they’re standing eye-to-eye.
“Show off.” y/n teases, but Bucky has no chance to reply, as she swings herself onto him just seconds later, wrapping her legs around his head, and throwing Bucky to the floor in a couple swift moves. They lock eyes for a bit, and y/n tilts her head, as if asking why he’s not moving, but Bucky quickly recollects himself, grabbing onto her ankle, and bringing her down onto the floor before she can attack him further. She swiftly gets up, Bucky following right after, and for a couple moments they just walk, both in fighting positions, and both ready to attack when the time will seem right to do so. She gets behind him, and when Bucky tries quickly turning around, he accidentally lifts his metal arm up, hitting y/n in the stomach so hard, she falls out of the ring and on the hard floor, groaning. Steve jumps up from his spot, running to check up on y/n, but thankfully, she’s uninjured, the only sign of the accident being an already forming bruise on her right shoulder. “It’s my fault, really.” She groans out, but Bucky does not seem to hear that. y/n leaves the gym shortly after that, and Bucky tells Steve about the coffee incident, stopping him before the blonde has any chances of making fun of the man.
It’s 3:12pm, when the shower in Bucky’s bathroom runs out of hot water and he’s walking up to Steve’s room. Usually, he’d knock before entering someone’s room, but it’s Steve’s, and Bucky knows Steve stayed behind for an extra cardio session. Shaking his head at the blonde’s passion for working out, he strips off his clothing, and enters the bathroom. It’s warm and a little foggy, almost as if someone was just showering, but Bucky’s not fazed, thinking it was probably Steve that came down to shower before his run, a towel still left close to the shower’s curtain. Neatly placing a clean outfit and a pair of boxers on the sink’s edge, he looks at himself in the mirror. If he thought spilling boiling coffee down his crush’s t-shirt or knocking her down was embarrassing, his ungodly thoughts seem downright shameful. A war happens inside his mind as he looks down at his hard-on, but Bucky needs this, he needs to let down some steam. Grasping the sink, Bucky palms his dick in his hand; he thinks back to her legs wrapped around him, and the way her ass, covered in lacy panties, peaked from under her shirt this morning. It’s only when an involuntary moan slips past his lips, does y/n fully understand how much trouble she’s in. Her shower had run out of hot water when she’s gotten back from the gym, so she went over to Steve’s without thinking much about it. Except now she’s soapy and wet, stuck in his shower, with only a curtain between her and Bucky, and she’s pretty sure those are moans that she’s hearing. Her mouth drops open when she realises she might be listening to Steve and Bucky having sex, and when the thought fully settles in her mind, she vows to herself to never use other people’s showers without asking. It’s both a relief and a nightmare, when a metal arm pushes the curtain open and a naked, mortified Bucky stares back at her. Her gaze drifts to his hard on for a moment, before she closes her eyes all together. Bucky tries his best to not let his eyes wonder around her body, but the image of her, seemingly perfect, curves already carved deep, deep into his brain. Closing the curtain, he hears the water start running again, before a hand reaches for a towel, and seconds later, y/n steps out, wrapped in the fluffy, white material. She tries smiling at him, but he’s still naked, as in the midst of shock he forgot to cover himself, and it’s awkward as hell, so y/n quickly scurries past Bucky, and out of Steve’s room completely. Looking down, Bucky sights. “How in the fucking hell are you still up?”
When the whole teams comes to the dining room for their usual 8pm dinner, Bucky’s too mortified and embarrassed to look y/n in the eyes. He can sense she also feels awkward, avoiding him as much as possible, setting the table up and bringing dish after dish from the kitchen. When she comes out with the final plate, the only open seat is next to Bucky, and even though she still feels weird, she reluctantly sits down, and even smiles at him slightly. Everyone’s plates are full, and people have started eating when Steve sparks a conversation.
“So, all the hot water in my room was gone when I got back.” He focuses on Bucky and y/n. “Either of you have something to say?” Shaking her head no, y/n continues eating her meal, playing innocent and smiles at their Captain. “What about you, Buck?” Sighting, he puts his fork down, and looks at his best friend.
“Alright, I took a shower in your room, because mine was broken.” He admits, hoping Steve will leave the topic alone, but strangely, he doesn’t.
“At least two people had to shower in my room to use up the hot water.” Bucky can only hope his face isn’t flaming red, but he can feel the heat rising up to his cheeks and spreading down his neck. Noticing Steve’s waiting for an answer, y/n turns to Tony.
“I can’t believe you’re a billionaire, but half of the showers at the compound are broken.”
“y/n, I also found your panties in my bathroom.” Choking on her bite, y/n takes a sip of her drink, before meeting Steve’s eyes. Everyone’s looking at y/n and Bucky, Tony’s amused face doing nothing, but fuelling y/n’s anger. “Did you and Bucky shower together?”
If Bucky could have just one wish, he’d wish for the Earth to swallow him whole in that very moment. “Steve, we were not showering.” Bucky blurts out, realising how insinuating it sounds only when half of the team’s jaws drop to the floor.
“Did you have sex instead?” Natasha asks, a teasing smile on her face.
“No!” They both blurt out at the same time, faces heated up in embarrassment. Bucky looks at y/n apologetically, and raises his eyes back to Steve.
“We didn’t-“ he starts “I didn’t-“ he tries to form a sentence, but keeps choking over his words. Knowing the team won’t believe them either way, y/n takes over for Bucky.
“Steve, Bucky and I are sorry for not leaving you any hot water. The rest of you can go back to eating.” Y/n has that overly sweet smile on her face, but when she turns to Bucky, her face softens, and she rubs his shoulder, whispering it’s not worth it. And so he drops the topic, leaving it alone, and goes back to eating his meal in quiet. But for what seemed like the worst day ever, it’s not so bad; it’s the first time Sam doesn’t make a joke where his teammates laugh at Bucky, instead laughing with him, and it’s the first time Tony smiles, genuinely smiles at him, gesturing to y/n when she isn’t looking and holding thumbs up. And when the sun has hidden all the way, and the time for sleep has come, y/n smiles at him before disappearing into her room, and, yeah, he thinks, I guess it wasn’t such a bad day after all.

High School AU!
Maria Hill x Reader

word count: 2287
AN: I am back from my hiatus and am to see that you all stuck around. I am currently quarantined since I came into contact with someone who tested positive with covid (v scary ik!), but I am okay! I got my first dose before they got covid so hopefully, I am okay. Since I will be home for the next ten days, I'll start posting more. I hope you all are staying safe and enjoy.
Tumblr media
Betty, I won't make assumptions
About why you switched your homeroom
But, I think it's 'cause of me
“What do you want Maria?” Inez quickly dismisses her as soon as Maria steps foot in front of her.
“Look, I just want to know where Y/N is. I need to talk to her.” Maria rocks back on her heels and exhales.
“Why so you can break her heart again? Do me a favor and fuck off!” Inez yells and pushes past Maria making sure to shoulder check her in the process. Maria exhales once again and stares at the floor. God, what has she done?
Betty, one time I was riding on my skateboard
When I passed your house
It's like I couldn't breathe
It has been two weeks since the incident and it has been affecting Maria more than she would have ever thought it would. She has been sloppy at soccer practices and her coaches and teammates are starting to notice. They need their star forward if they want to make it to states and Maria just couldn’t find herself to care anymore. If this was any other year she would have been at the top of her game. She eats, sleeps, and breathes the game of soccer, but all she can think about is you. Frustrated and tired from being in her head so much, she decides to take a ride on her board. She rides for half an hour with no destination in mind. Some cruel part of her brain subconsciously led her to you. Luckily, your car was not in the driveway when she passed by, but some part of her wished that you were there. She’d do anything to see you again...to hold you again. She felt a wave of anxiety hit as she came back to her senses-quickly leaving to go back home. So much for clearing her mind.
You heard the rumors from Inez
You can't believe a word she says
Most times, but this time, it was true
The worst thing that I ever did
Was what I did to you
Maria trudges up the stairs and into her room with tears in her eyes. She royally fucked up and all she could think about was your face that day when the rumors spread. Your best friend Inez is notoriously known for her big mouth and gossip, but this time it was true. Ironically enough, Maria woke up in a good mood. She had broken things off with Carol the weekend before and was getting ready to tell you. Maria was known as your school’s fuckgirl, but she wanted to make it up to you. You changed her for the better and she needed you in her life. She knew something was up the second she stepped into Mr.Brown’s homeroom. You and Inez were at your usual table, but instead of the pair of you laughing, Inez was rubbing your back as you tried to hold back tears. The rest of the class was whispering and gossiping about what was going on. The moment she stepped in the door the whispers ceased and all eyes turned to her. You looked up wondering why the class got silent and made eye contact with her. That was when she knew. That look on your face has haunted Maria for the past month. Maria bolted over to you with tears threatening to spill. God this couldn’t be happening.
“Baby-” Maria reached out to hold your hands but you flinched at her touch as her once comforting hands burned like a vampire in the sun.
You shook your head “You don’t get to call me that anymore. God, how could I have been so stupid!”
Maria closed her eyes- trying to contain the tears prickling the surface.
“Y/N, please let me explain just please-”
“Is it true Maria?” Y/N cut her off mid-sentence.
You could hear a pin drop in the room. Maria felt guilt creep up in her stomach and throat. She felt physically sick of herself. That look of hope that you had in your eyes slipped away. She broke your heart. A tear slipped from your eye as you bolted out of the room.
Maria laid in her bed as a sob wracked her body. She promised to never hurt you and here you were. She never did commitment before; she talked ill about it even, but you changed her world and she couldn’t get you back.
Betty, I know where it all went wrong
Your favourite song was playing
From the far side of the gym
I was nowhere to be found
I hate the crowds, you know that
Plus, I saw you dance with her
Thinking back to where it all took a turn, Maria wishes that she would have been there for you. You were just so excited to go to the school dance. If only Maria got her head out of her ass. She might have been this popular jock that everyone wants at their parties, but she hated the attention and the crowds. You were the only one who got to know the real Maria. When you asked her to the dance she promptly declined. The face you made when she declined broke her heart. Last-minute, Maria decides to go to the dance, but she didn’t see all the times where you declined dances or when you spent half the dance by yourself, no. She walked in to see you slow dancing with Natasha Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff is the school’s sweetheart. She is nothing like Maria and that hurt her.
I was walking home on broken cobblestones
Just thinking of you
When she pulled up
Like a figment of my worst intentions
She said, "Maria, get in, let's drive"
Those days turned into nights
Slept next to her, but
I dreamt of you all summer long
With no explanation, Maria wrote off commitment once again. Why would you ever like someone like her?
On her walk back home from the dance is where it all started. Carol Danvers, the school’s notorious badass just so happened to be in the area. She was intriguing and made Maria feel like she didn’t have to compete to be on her level. She knew she was in for it when she said,
“Maria, get in, let’s drive.”
One time turned into two.
Two turned into three and three turned into three months. Carol might have been the one she slept next to, but you were the one on her mind.
Betty, I'm here on your doorstep
And I planned it out for weeks now
But it's finally sinking in
Betty, right now is the last time
I can dream about what happens
When you see my face again
The only thing I wanna do
Is make it up to you
So, I showed up at your party
Word got around that you were throwing a party for your 17th birthday. Well, more like Inez was throwing a party to take your mind off everything. Maria got around to hearing of the party and started making her plan to talk to you again. This could either go really well or she could completely fuck this over.
She stood at your doorstep with your favorite cardigan you thought you lost in a gift bag. She took a deep breath before walking in your home. She felt the stares, but she couldn’t care what others thought. She was her for one thing and one thing only. To get you back.
Yeah, I showed up at your party
Will you have me? Will you love me?
Will you kiss me on the porch in front of all your stupid friends?
If you kiss me, will it be just like I dreamed it?
Will it patch your broken wings?
I'm only 17, I don't know anything
But I know I miss you
The moment you two made eye contact it took your breath away. She looked a dream, but your heart was telling you that a nightmare was approaching. Inez turned her head to see what you were looking at and immediately got angry.
“Who the fuck let her in?” She angrily stomped to Maria as you stood frozen. You knew you forgave her a long time ago, but you don’t know if you can risk all that heartbreak again. Life with Maria was bliss. You haven’t felt a connection like that ever in your life. You were in love with her and didn’t want to let her go. You took a sip of your drink and walked to where Inez was chewing out your ex.
“Look, I know i’m an asshole and I do have the nerve to show up here uninvited, but I just really want to talk to-”
“Inez it’s okay.” You stood in front of the beautiful girl you were still so in love with. Your best friend nods and whispers something to Maria. Maria gulps and looks back at you. All of that built up confidence that she had suddenly washed away.
“Hi?” You snap her out of her trance.
“Y/N h-hi uhh happy birthday.” She nervously chews the corner of her lip and extends her arm with a present.
You take the bag and raise your eyebrow. “You didn’t just come here to give me a present, did you?”
“N-no! I just-” She huffs out and tugs on her beautiful brunette hair that you used to run your fingers through. “I wanted to talk to you if you give me the chance.”
You sigh and nod your head. “Let’s go out back to the garden.” She smiles and follows you out. What have you gotten yourself into?
----
You two sit in the garden taking each other in. Life was so different the last time you were together back here.
“I just want to say how sorry I am, Y/N. I know sorry won’t cut it and I can’t even begin to believe how much I have hurt you,” Tears started to flow free from Maria’s eyes. Now, that’s something you haven’t seen before. You hesitantly take her hand in yours and caress her palm. She takes a deep breath and continues. “I was really planning on telling you that day, you know. I just- I felt like you could have done better than me and maybe you and Natasha deserved to be together.”
You furrowed your eyebrows at her statement. “Tasha is one of my best friends other than Inez. Where did you get that thought from, Mari?”
Maria smiled at the nickname she hasn’t heard in so long.
“I was at the dance and saw you two slow dancing to your favorite song. The look that you gave each other was something that I wish that you gave me. I wish I could look in your eyes and not see all the pain and disappointment I’ve caused. I am in love with you Y/N and I was scared. Carol was the first thing I saw after seeing the love of my life fall for someone else and I reverted back to my ways.” I flinch at the mention of Carol and shake my head.
“You can be so confusing sometimes you know that? I am in love with you Maria. If you would have been there earlier you would have seen how miserable I was. Nat just finally got me off my ass to enjoy that one part of the dance.” You let out a huff and feel a tear slide down your cheek. This is stupid why did you agree to listen. Before you could wipe your tear, Maria takes her thumb and wipes it away. She caresses your cheek and stares at your lips.
“You’re the only one I want Y/N,” She whispers. “You changed me for the better. All I can ever think about is you. I wake up wondering how you’re doing and go to bed dreaming about what we could have been if I wasn’t a douchebag. You are it for me, Y/N. Please give me a chance to start over. I am in love with you and always will be.
Those were the words you so desperately wanted to hear for the past year. Maria was the love of your life, and no matter how much pain she caused, you knew you would do it all over in a heartbeat just to have her in your arms again. With tears flowing freely down both of your faces, you press your lips to hers in a passionate and fiery kiss. She may not have been a Shakespeare with her words, but you felt every emotion flow through you with the way she kissed you. She kissed you like you breathed life back into her. Your missing piece was back with you, and you refuse to let it go again. The two of you pull apart out of breath.
“I am in love with you Maria Hill.”
“I am in love with you Y/F/N Y/LN”
Standing in your cardigan
Kissing in my car again
Stopped at a streetlight
You know I miss you

and now we’re here
Tumblr media
  Requested: 👍
Summary/Request: This one is a collab with @kayleafs221! We flash back with (Y/N) after Freddie left her and to her finding out she was pregnant
Author’s Note: We have a part three! I wasn’t going to do more than two but @kayleafs221 wants ✨drama✨ so we’re gonna see what we can conjure up together. We teamed up to see how much drama we could fit in so hopefully it fits the bill. @kayleafs221 also mentioned that she wanted to structure this sort of how New Moon was written so we went with it! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter and I’ve got one last chapter in me to make it all fluffy and bring these two back together! Stay Golden, loves! <3
  masterlist
  the other masterlist
xx
It had already been a month. You kept telling yourself you shouldn’t be so devastated but he hadn’t called or even texted. You were alone. He had left you completely alone and he wasn’t coming back. You found yourself curled up in his large hoodie on the bathroom floor for the umpteenth time while your chest tightened with every sob and gasp you took as if he took your lungs with him; falling asleep clinging to the last piece you had of him.
Month 2
You had no choice. You had to throw yourself into work, it was all you could do. Even when you were home, your laptop was out. You let yourself be distracted in any way you could but even that was no use. You had been sick all week and your boss had made you stay home. You didn’t know what to do as you sat on your couch refusing to watch movies because they were all the same. Always a happy ending and the thought of love and sex made you sick, sick to your stomach. You were determined to do something productive, maybe going for a walk would make you feel better. A walk by the beach. It was just as you remembered it. Beautiful. Peaceful. Suddenly your mind was flooded.
“I’ve been traded to Toronto. I leave at 4am.” What bullshit was that? How could he leave so suddenly and not even be phased? Not have any remorse for any of it?
“Stay in touch Freddie.” You were so stupid to think that he would care enough to keep whatever this was going long distance. You had to face reality, that you didn’t mean anything to him. It came again, the dizziness, the shortness of breath. It couldn’t be stopped this time. There was only black. You woke up to the incessant sound of beeping, beeping, what was all that beeping? Your eyes were met with an uncomfortable brightness. This isn’t the beach, you thought to yourself, before rubbing your head, “What?” you started to say, confused as to how you ended up in a hospital bed
“Ah, Miss (Y/L/N) I see you are awake,” the nurse checking your vitals said, “I’ll get the doctor for you, I’m sure you have many questions.” Sitting yourself up, you watched her leave the room before finding the clock and realizing that it had been two hours since you went to the beach. You couldn’t believe you were unconscious for that long, this was crazy, “she’s still groggy” the nurse said, directing the doctor to your bedside
“That’s normal,” the doctor explained with a smile, “well, we’ve run some tests and you’re severely dehydrated”
“Dehydrated?” you asked, “I don’t un– I mean I haven’t been out of bed for a couple weeks but I’ve just been dealing with some things”
“Seven” he smiled, checking the paperwork in front of him casually
“Excuse me?” you replied, furrowing your brow
“Seven weeks,” he added, “my guess is that you haven’t been drinking a lot of water”
“I haven’t really been up for it” you cowered
“Well, please do,” the doctor said, “for your baby’s sake”
“I’m sorry what?” you exclaimed, “Baby?” you said, shaking your head
“Yes,” the doctor repeated, “you’re about seven weeks along. Give or take a couple days. All women handle their pregnancies differently, which might account for your drowsiness and any mood swings you may have been experiencing”
“I’m not pregnant” you scoffed, readjusting yourself in your bed
“You are” the doctor returned your scoff, seemingly annoyed at your behaviour
  “I can’t be…”
  “The results say otherwise”
“But I haven’t had sex, I haven’t left my bed in.. like two months”
  “Which is about seven weeks”
  “But I… I can’t be pregnant”
“Is there anyone we can call for you?”
“No… there’s no one” you lowered your eyes as the realization came over you.
Month 3
After you were released from the hospital, you tried to make the pregnancy easier on yourself by reading a million books and telling your parents what you needed or letting your mom tell you what she thought you needed
“You know what I think will really help?” she said, “telling the father…”
  “Mom…” you whined
“He deserves to know, too.” She was right, of course, as all mom’s usually are so you agreed to reach out but you deleted his number when you convinced yourself it was better to forget about him, forcing you to search him out online; a huge mistake really. There were stories about girls who he’d slept with and left ‘in his wake,’ none of which you could be sure of their validity, but then you’d find pictures of him hanging out with Auston Matthews or William Nylander or any of the younger teammates in clubs and bars and you could only imagine that their behaviours spilled into his, so you let it go.
Month 9
“But what happens when that kid is born with red hair and freckles? Or when he’s a natural athlete?” your sister asked
“What do you mean?” you scoffed
“You can’t hide that,” she tried, tilting her head as she continued, hoping you’d get her point. “He’s gonna know. If there’s a picture, he’s gonna know. He’s not dense…”
“The kid probably won’t be a red head. So he’d never know..” you said knowing very well it could be a possibility. She huffed when she realized she wouldn’t get through your stubbornness. As time went on, you realized that there was no use denying it, Jackson was already excelling at every sport he tried. Knowing this, you kept him as far away from ice as possible. You knew it was wrong but you just couldn’t risk it, especially after so many of the Ducks already knew you. Whenever you thought about reaching out and telling him the truth, something was being said about him. He seemed to be a magnet for negativity.
“Possible Frederik Andersen injury a very troubling turn for Maple Leafs”
“Maple Leafs placing all their faith in Frederik Andersen”
“Andersen Said What Every Maple Leaf Fan Is Thinking”
“Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen fined $2K for embellishment”
“Toronto Maple Leafs: Andersen has been a Disaster”
Every headline seemed to be worse than the last and you knew that if you were feeling stressed just reading them, then he was probably shutting himself away to hide from everyone after living with them. This was a normal thing for goalies to go through in the NHL but there was something about the way Toronto was treating Freddie that made you want to be there for him. But you couldn’t make a decision like that so easily anymore. It wasn’t just about you and your feelings anymore, you had your baby boy to think about and the older he got, the more you could see his personality grow and the more his personality grew, the happier he was; you couldn’t imagine taking that away from him. You couldn’t take that life away from him. But watching Freddie’s career hit highs and lows, noticing he was alone through most of it, your heart broke for him. You hoped that, somehow, your love would reach him. You hoped for his happiness even before your own. Even so, you would protect your son through everything, knowing that meant it might cost you the truest of love.
Toronto 2021
“Why did you lie to me?” Freddie said under his breath. You could tell he was angry and there was no getting away from this.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t lie. I told you I had a one night stand with some guy– why are we even talking about this again?” You tried your best to keep the story straight, hoping to appease him
“You lied about Jackson not being mine!” he started to shout
“I didn’t…” you stammered. There’s no way. He couldn’t know. You had made sure of it
“I did the math… I saw your post and I went back because something didn’t… add up…” he admitted, “and the math didn’t fit with some one night stand. That kid in there, who looked an awful lot like me as a kid, he’s mine. And you lied about it. You kept it from me, kept HIM from me!”
“HE’S MY SON!” you cried. Everything was falling apart and you weren’t sure what to do anymore. There was no getting around this, you had to let out what you’d been holding in from that night, “and you left me! YOU LEFT US!”
“BUT HE’S MY SON TOO!” he countered and you furrowed your brow, shaking your head as you tried to think of what to say next.
“I made a choice, Freddie. I looked at how quickly our life together changed and I… made a choice. I couldn’t put a child through all of that. Moving at the drop of a hat, having to say goodbye to friends and homes and cities whenever your job called for it… You never looked back, you never reached out. After two months of waiting, I woke up alone in a hospital and you didn’t even care to call. So I did this. I HAD TO” you confessed, sorrow filling your eyes as you watched his face soften. “So yeah, I lied. But I didn’t lie to hurt you. I lied to protect him. No matter what. I make no apologies for that.”
“How was I supposed to know that you were in the hospital?”
“It doesn’t matter, Freddie,” you sighed, “the point is, you left and I was alone and I couldn’t wait for you.”
  “So what now?”
“I don’t know,” you started. “If this had happened before you got traded, our life would’ve been so different. I pictured it, you know,” you smiled, “our life. With Jackson. We looked so happy in my daydreams”
“We could be happy like that,” he whispered, moving close to you, “in real life”
“I can’t change his life for you”
“I don’t want you to change his life,” he smiled, closing the gap between the two of you and you felt your heartbeat in your head, making it hard to think straight, “I just want to be part of it...”
“He doesn’t know who you are” you said through bated breath
“Let’s tell him then” he exclaimed
“No,” you insisted, putting your hands on his forearms, “if we’re going to do this, we have to take it slow”
“Slow?” he asked, leaning down to your ear, “how slow?”
“I just don’t want him to feel overwhelmed,” you replied, your hands drifting up his arms, “just... start by introducing yourself to him... We’ll have lunch”
“I can do that” he smirked, pushing your hair back before laying a kiss to the exposed skin of your collarbone
  “You have to be patient”
“I can do that” he repeated as a moan left your mouth
“I don’t know if you can” you chuckled, finally pushing him away from you
  “I can”
  “I’m serious”
“So am I!” he laughed, placing his hands on your hips to stop you from turning around, “he’s my son and I will do anything to get to know him”
“He can’t know you’re his dad yet,” you said again, “I know it seems weird but, please, just don’t fight me on this”
“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it”
“Good” you joked, cocking your eyebrow before he smiled at you. That smile always broke you, always made your heart louder than your head, and, right now, you were more than happy to listen to it. He met you in the middle, pressing a kiss to your lips before his hands pushed your body into his and suddenly, it all felt so perfect. Like no time had passed. He was yours again and you were determined to keep it that way.

My toy (yandere Sugawara x male reader)
Tumblr media
Prompt: a boys night out landed with the karasuno boys hanging at a perverted adult host club, with you being their host for the night but suga doesn't like the attention it's giving you
This story contains: toxic yandere behavior, sprinkle of degrading, male reader in knee high socks and panties, anal sex, timeskip sugawara
Tumblr media
Sugawara watched as you bent over daichi's lap wiggling your ass before looking back at the dark haired male seeing his face fluster as he watched you, your skirt rising up and exposing your pretty pink panties.
Suga wasn't sure they chose a place like this to hang out, maybe it was cause of the drinks or the cute boys but seeing you behave in such a way to someone other than him made him want to bash daichi's stupid head in.
They could have chose any club but nope they had to go the one you worked at, you were his and his old teammates were just drooling as you laid across the male's lap talking to hinata who was busy feeding you pocky since you didn't mind too much and touching like this was allowed as long as you were alright with it.
Sugawara knew exactly what this place was, the familiar smell of sweetness made his head spin as memories of coming here after a hard day of work flooded him, he met you here and fell in love as soon as he ssaw you. Your theme was that you crossdressed and was the most physical host here when it came to clients.
Sugawara could remember all those soft kisses you would plant on his cheeks as you sat in his lap, he never saw you kiss any other clients so it was obvious you like him the most. Even if you didn't it didn't matter cause in his eyes you were all his, this was making his blood boil!
"hey [y/n], can you sit in my lap next? I'm feeling neglected over here!"
Nishinoya's loud voice made suga flinch as he watched you move from daichi now walking over and plopping down in nishinoya's lap feeling his arms wrap around your waist and his hands played with those frilly knee high socks you wore, his fingers trailing around the fabric as you struck up a conversation with yamaguchi now who was just sprouting compliment after compliment.
Stop it. They are mine, so back the fuck up.
I found them first
Back the hell up!
Suga's thoughts on a his brain and he shot up fast when he saw you plan a kiss onto nishinoya's cheek causing him to blush and grin widely.
Sugawara's breathing became heavy as he watched your expression turn to confusion and he tried to relax himself before he did something stupid, with a shaky laugh the male rubbed the back of his neck as he innocently smiled your way.
"sorry, can you show me to the bathroom? Sorry again for bothering you"
"hm? It's fine, follow me"
You hopped up and walked towards the back soon walking to the male bathroom but you were not expecting to be yanked inside but before you can sfream suga slammed you against the wall his hand covering your mouth.
"you're so rude, y'know? Cheating is such a bad trait"
Suga uncovered your mouth his hands now busy throwing your shirt and skirt off your body as you tried to push him away with a shaky breath. You were confused, scared, and disturbed all rolled into one but the look in suga's eyes told you he was serious
"c-cheat? What are you talking about?"
"we both know you're mine, yet you act like a slut with the others? Did you want to fuck them or something?! How disgusting"
That sugary sweet tone suga normally uses was gone and replaced with a tone only described as rage and disgust. All those months of being an angel to you and this is how you repay him?
He honestly didn't want to be sweet anymore since that clearly wasn't working, suga yanked you away from the wall now dragging you by your hair to the sink and he forced you to bend off his eyes landing on your panties.
"you always dress so cute like a little doll, I don't want anyone else to see you like this, guess you'll have to quit your job. I hated the fact that you worked here anyways, if you needed attention you can come to me"
"b-but we aren't da- Ah!"
Your words turned Into a shocked moan as suga slapped your ass watching it start to redden as his slid your underwear down, he licked two of his fingers before shoving one inside of you with a low hum.
"I could be so sweet to you, a true sweetheart but you have to do everything I say baby. After all, why would you ever need to work when I could provide for you?"
His sweet tone returned as he leaned in close his chest against your back and his mouth hot against your ear while he pumped his finger in and out of your tight asshole, your small moans making him even harder than he already was.
"when i first saw you, I thought you were so beautiful. You were wearing that white dress and cute heels, you looked like an angel. We talked for hours and I was then that I wanted you, it was impossible to not follow you outside of work to see if you are the same and it's amazing how vulnerable you are, like a frail baby"
Suga's voice was getting more and more excited as he spoke, he shoved his second finger inside of you making sure to kiss your neck when you gasped and whined from his forceful touch.
"shhhh, I'm speaking don't be a rude boy. As I was saying, you were absolutely perfect. I thought of so many different ways to make you mine, I was going to do it tonight but things turned out to be different. thats okay, cause you're mine now and I'll prove that to them don't worry"
Your mind was starting to zone his words out but the feeling of his fingers pulling back and the sound of him unbuckling his pants made you tense up as you now struggled only for suga to reach out and grip your waist with one arm tightly, as he lined his throbbing cock up with youe hole he could hear your tiny whimpers.
"aw are you nervous baby? Is it your first time? What a sweetie! It's okay, I'll try to not make it hurt but I can't promise that"
"p-please.. we can't do-"
Suga cut out off by moving his hand around your waist to touch your hard cock, he smiled against your neck as he slowly pushed himself inside you with a shaky breathing.
"you shouldn't complain about this when you're just as hard as I am, you love it so much I can feel your precum just oozing out of your tip, after all it's natural for lovers to make sweet love even if it's in public"
As suga started to move in and out of you, your complaints and pleas for him to stop slowly transformed into moans and begging for him to keep going, this was so wrong but you found yourself filled with pleasure as suga slammed his cock deep into your hole hitting your prostate to the point where you were seeing stars.
"a-ah! Please s-sugawara! Harder!"
"ngh, baby it's koushi, say my name we're lovers now after all"
You ignored his lovers comment since you just wanted him to keep going so you decided to just play along, moaning his name to the point where he snapped.
Hearing you mewl out his name like that only proved that you were in fact his so he couldn't help but grip your hips now mercilessly slamming in and out of you before his mouth found its way digging into your neck.
"g-going to cum! Please! Ahhh don't stop!"
Your cute pleas was music to suga's ears and he knew he couldn't stop even if he wanted to, this was way too good for him and his head was blanking as he felt his own climax building up.
"fuck- baby I'm going to cum inside, yeah you want me to do that! You want me to fill you up like the slutty boy you are"
Your eyes rolled back and drool rolled down your cheek as your moans became loud cries and before you know it both you and suga cummed, you could feel your ass being filled with hot cum as you bucked your hips and cummed both in the floor and yourself.
The room soon filled with heavy breathing as suga pulled out and simply slid your panties back up making sure not a drip of cum spilled out. He turned you around before trapping you into his arms with his eyes locking with yours as his tine became low
"we are going to go back out there and you are going to stay in my lap, give me all your attention. After it's time to go you'll be coming home with me, you are my boyfriend after all so it's normal okay?"
A feeling of dread filled you as you stared into suga's dark and serious eyes but his chsrming smile for some reason was the thing that terrified you the most.

i don’t want you like a best friend: a tswift-pimms playlist
i don’t want you like a best friend: a tswift-pimms playlist
Tumblr media
link
this is the pimms playlist i spent more than a year working on from like, 2018 to the end of 2019! as such, it only contains music up through lover, not anything from folklore or evermore. @permets-2 finally poked me into posting the liner notes, which I gave up on because tumblr formatting was fighting me, so please know i haven’t actually looked at them since 2019 and there might still be missing things? idk.
this playlist is absolutely dedicated to my beloved @faiasakura, who did her own version of an all-tswift pimms playlist completely independently (we actively avoided comparing notes, lol), which can be found here!
i don’t really go here lately but i hope this is of interest to someone!
Prologue
1. Don’t Blame Me (reputation)
for you, I would fall from grace
Just to touch your face
If you walk away, I'd beg you on my knees to stay
Lord save me, my drug is my baby
I'll be usin' for the rest of my life
Act 1: The Q
2. Gorgeous (reputation)
a crush
Ocean blue eyes looking in mine
I feel like I might sink and drown and die
You're so gorgeous
I can't say anything to your face
'Cause look at your face
And I'm so furious
At you for making me feel this way
But what can I say?
You're gorgeous
3. Treacherous (Red)
something magnetic, pulling them both in
And I'll do anything you say
If you say it with your hands
And I'd be smart to walk away
But you're quicksand
Your name has echoed through my mind
And I just think you should, think you should know
That nothing safe is worth the drive
And I will follow you, follow you home
4. Dress (reputation)
a shared and precious secret: love, desperate and messy and everything. But also: the scrutiny, the frenetic anxiety, the fear.
I’m spilling wine in the bathtub
You kiss my face and we're both drunk
Everyone thinks that they know us
But they know nothing about—
All of this silence and patience, pining and anticipation
My hands are shaking from holding back from you
5. Tied Together With a Smile (Taylor Swift)
the pressure builds; jack’s anxiety gets worse
Hold on, baby you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go, and no one knows
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
6. Long Live (Speak Now)
the glory, the playoffs, the memorial cup: the golden boys of hockey, on top of the world
Long live the walls we crashed through
All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
I was screaming, long live all the magic we made
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered
Hold on, to spinning around
Confetti falls to the ground
May these memories break our fall
7. State of Grace (Red)
the 34 days, inside kent’s euphoria
This is a state of grace
This is the worthwhile fight
Love is a ruthless game
Unless you play it good and right
These are the hands of fate
You’re my Achilles heel
this is the golden age of something good and right and real
8. Cruel Summer (Lover)
(that golden season and its dark underbelly)
So cut the headlights, summer's a knife
I'm always waiting for you just to cut to the bone
Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes
And if I bleed, you'll be the last to know
-
Said, "I'm fine," but it wasn't true
I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you
And I snuck in through the garden gate
Every night that summer just to seal my fate (Oh)
And I scream, "For whatever it's worth
I love you, ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?"
9. Haunted (Speak Now)
the overdose: kent finds jack on the bathroom floor
Whoa, holding my breath
Won't lose you again
Something's made your eyes go cold
-
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong
You're all I wanted
10. I Know Places (1989)
kent in the waiting room, holding on hope
Something happens when everybody finds out
See the vultures circling, dark clouds
Love's a fragile little flame, it could burn out
It could burn out
Lights flash and we'll run for the fences
Let them say what they want, we won't hear it
Loose lips sink ships all the damn time
Not this time
Act 2: The Fallout
11. The Story of Us (Speak Now)
kent goes to the draft; jack won’t answer his calls
Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room
And we're not speaking
And I'm dying to know
Is it killing you like it's killing me?
Yeah, and I don't know what to say
Since the twist of fate, when it all broke down
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now
The battle's in your hands now
But I would lay my armor down
If you say you'd rather love than fight
12. Last Kiss (Speak Now)
jack and kent, the same realization from opposite sides
So I'll go sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is
I don't know how to be something you miss
I never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
13. Death By A Thousand Cuts (Lover)
Starting to live with the devastation and the broken heart
Saying goodbye is death by a thousand cuts
Flashbacks waking me up
I get drunk, but it's not enough
’Cause the morning comes and you're not my baby
I look through the windows of this love
Even though we boarded them up
Chandelier's still flickering here
’Cause I can't pretend it's okay when it's not
It's death by a thousand cuts
14. If This Was A Movie (Speak Now)
regrets and memories
Last night, I heard my own heart beating
Sounded like footsteps on my stairs
Six months gone and I'm still reaching
Even though I know you're not there
I was playing back a thousand memories, baby
Thinkin' 'bout everything we've been through
Maybe I've been going back too much lately
When time stood still and I had you
15. Cold as You (Taylor Swift)
the grief and pain become anger and bitterness
And when you take, you take the very best of me
So I start a fight cause I need to feel something
And you do what you want cause I'm not what you wanted
You put up walls and paint them all a shade of gray
And I stood there loving you and wished them all away
And you come away with a great little story
Of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you
Interlude 1: Jack
16. I Almost Do (Red)
kent doesn’t know as much as he thinks he does (but jack doesn’t either)
I bet you think I either moved on or hate you
‘Cause each time you reach out, there’s no reply
I bet it never, ever occurred to you
That I can’t say hello to you
And risk another goodbye
Oh, we made quite a mess, babe
It’s probably better off this way
And I confess, babe
In my dreams, you’re touching my face
And asking me if I want to try again with you
And I almost do
Act 3: Coming of Age in Vegas
17. New Romantics (1989)
vegas; teammates; living in the moment; drinking, dancing, and self-destructing
We're all here, the lights and boys are blinding
We hang back, it's all in the timing
It's poker
He can't see it in my face
But I'm about to play my Ace (ahh)
We need love, but all we want is danger
We team up, then switch sides like a record changer
The rumors are terrible and cruel
But honey, most of them are true
Heartbreak is the national anthem
We sing it proudly
We’re too busy dancing (yeah) to get knocked off our feet
Baby, we're the new romantics
The best people in life are free
18. Begin Again (Red)
kent starts to move on
And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did
I've been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe, I watched it begin again
19. The Way I Loved You (Fearless)
all the drinking and dancing and dating still feel empty and hollow; he just wants to feel again; he just wants that love back
I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain
It's 2 AM and I'm cursing your name
I'm so in love that I acted insane
And that's the way I loved you
Breaking down and coming undone
It's a roller coaster kind of rush
And I never knew I could feel that much
And that's the way I loved you
He can't see the smile I'm faking
And my heart's not breaking
'Cause I'm not feeling anything at all
And you were wild and crazy
Just so frustrating
Intoxicating, complicated
20. The Lucky One (Red)
kent parson: the loneliest boy, so alone at the top of the world
You had it figured out since you were in school
Everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool
So overnight, you look like a sixties queen
And they tell you that you’re lucky, but you’re so confused
'Cause you don’t feel pretty, you just feel used
And all the young things line up to take your place
Another name goes up in lights
You wonder if you’ll make it out alive
21. Come In With The Rain (Fearless)
(starting to move on is not the same as letting go)
I’ve watched you so long, screamed your name
I don’t know what else I can say
But I’ll leave my window open
'Cause I’m too tired at night to call your name
Just know I’m right here hoping
That you’ll come in with the rain
Act 4: Implosion
22. Out of the Woods (1989)
memories he can’t escape of a love like a car crash
The night we couldn't quite forget
When we decided, we decided
To move the furniture so we could dance
Baby, like we stood a chance
Two paper airplanes flying, flying, flying
And I remember thinking
-
Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet?
You took a Polaroid of us
Then discovered (then discovered)
The rest of the world was black and white
But we were in screaming color
23. Red (Red)
Kent decides to go to epikegster
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati
Down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin
Ending so suddenly
Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go
But moving on from him is impossible
When I still see it all in my head
In burning red
Loving him was red
24. The Last Time (Red)
didja miss me? (something tentative; something a little bit hopeful on both sides)
Find myself at your door
Just like all those times before
I’m not sure how I got there
All roads they lead me here
I imagine you are home
In your room, all alone
And you open your eyes into mine
And everything feels better
25. The Archer (Lover)
kent tries to extend an olive branch but it’s still covered in thorns
Combat, I'm ready for combat
I say I don't want that, but what if I do?
'Cause cruelty wins in the movies
I've got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you
I've been the archer, I've been the prey
Who could ever leave me, darling
But who could stay?
And I cut off my nose just to spite my face
Then I hate my reflection for years and years
26. Bad Blood (1989)
jack’s answer to kent’s wounded lashing out
Oh, it's so sad to
Think about the good times
You and I
’Cause baby, now we've got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look what you've done
’Cause baby, now we've got bad blood, hey!
27. Breathe (Fearless)
kent, driving away from epikegster
I see your face in my mind as I drive away
'Cause none of us thought it was gonna end that way
People are people and sometimes we change our minds
But it's killing me to see you go after all this time
And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand
And I can't breathe without you, but I have to
Breathe without you but I have to
28. All Too Well (Red)
despite all the pain, there’s an irresistible nostalgia for what they had all those years ago—for when things were so much simpler
Maybe we got lost in translation
Maybe I asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece
'Til you tore it all up
Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well
And you call me up again just to break me like a promise
So casually cruel in the name of being honest
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
'Cause I remember it all, all, all
Too well
Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again
But I'm still trying to find it
Interlude 2: Kent
29. Fifteen (Fearless)
a memory, a reflection
'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
And when you're fifteen and your first kiss
Makes your head spin 'round
But in your life you'll do things greater than
Dating the boy on the football team
But I didn't know it at fifteen
When all you wanted was to be wanted
Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now
Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday
But I realized some bigger dreams of mine
Act 5: Moving On, Growing Up
30. Clean (1989)
finally learning to be his own person, separate from that shared past
There was nothing left to do (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
When the butterflies turned to
Dust that covered my whole room
So I punched a hole in the roof (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Let the flood carry away all my pictures of you
The water filled my lungs, I screamed so loud
But no one heard a thing
Rain came pouring down
When I was drowning, that's when I could finally breathe
And by morning
Gone was any trace of you, I think I am finally clean
31. 22 (Red)
friends and freedom, and real joy in that this time around
It feels like a perfect night
To dress up like hipsters
And make fun of our exes, uh-uh, uh-uh
It feels like a perfect night
For breakfast at midnight
To fall in love with strangers, uh-uh, uh-uh
Yeah
We're happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time
It's miserable and magical, oh, yeah
Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines
It's time, oh-oh
32. So It Goes… (reputation)
[a doomed love can still be a good one]
'Cause we break down a little
But when you get me alone, it's so simple
'Cause baby, I know what you know
We can feel it
And all the pieces fall right into place
Getting caught up in a moment
Lipstick on your face
So it goes…
I'm yours to keep
And I'm yours to lose
You know I'm not a bad girl, but I
Do bad things with you
So it goes…
33. Dancing With Our Hands Tied (reputation)
[a doomed love can still be a good one]
I, I loved you in secret
First sight, yeah, we love without reason
Oh, twenty-five years old
Oh, how were you to know?
Could've spent forever with your hands in my pockets
Picture of your face in an invisible locket
You said there was nothing in the world that could stop it
I had a bad feeling
I'd kiss you as the lights went out
Swaying as the room burned down
I'd hold you as the water rushes in
If I could dance with you again
34. Wildest Dreams (1989)
[a doomed love can still be a good one]
He's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad, but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition is
Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ah-aah, haa
34. Shake It Off (1989)
At the top of his game, at the top of his sport, and actually happy at long last
I never miss a beat
I'm lightning on my feet
And that's what they don’t see, mm, mm
But I keep cruisin'
Can't stop, won't stop groovin'
It's like I got this music in my mind
Saying it's gonna be alright
'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
35. Holy Ground (Red)
Remembering with enough distance and experience to appreciate what was, not ache from it
Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress
We had this big wide city all to ourselves
We blocked the noise with the sound of, "I need you"
And for the first time, I had something to lose
And I guess we fell apart in the usual way
And the story's got dust on every page
But sometimes, I wonder how you think about it now
And I see your face in every crowd
'Cause darling, it was good
Never looking down
And right there where we stood
Was holy ground
Act 6: Reunion
36. ME! (Lover)
reconnection, reconciliation, re-appreciation
I know I tend to make it about me
I know you never get just what you see
But I will never bore you, baby
(And there's a lot of lame guys out there)
'Cause one of these things is not like the others
Livin' in winter, I am your summer
Baby doll, when it comes to a lover
I promise that you'll never find another like me-e-e
37. This Love (1989)
an unexpected reawakening
Tossing, turning
Struggled through the night with someone new
And I could go on and on, on and on
Lantern, burning
Flickered in my mind, only you
But you were still gone, gone, gone
Been losing grip, on sinking ships
You showed up just in time
This love is good, this love is bad
This love is alive back from the dead, oh-oh, oh
These hands had to let it go free, and
This love came back to me, oh-oh, oh
38. End Game (reputation) (ft. ed sheeran as jack)
After all this time, there are things they aren’t ever going to let go of again, no matter the trouble they bring
I got a bad boy persona, that's what they like (what they like)
You love it, I love it too 'cause you my type (You my type)
You hold me down, and I protect you with my life
I don't wanna touch you, I don't wanna be
Just another ex-love you don’t wanna see
I don’t wanna miss you (I don't wanna miss you)
Like the other girls do
I don’t wanna hurt you, I just wanna be
Drinking on a beach with you all over me
I know what they all say (I know what they all say)
But I ain't tryna play
I wanna be your end game (End game)
I wanna be your first string (First string)
I wanna be your A-Team (A-Team)
I wanna be your end game, end game
39. You Are In Love (1989)
something real; something sacred; something to build a life on
You can hear it in the silence (silence), silence (silence), you
You can feel it on the way home (way home), way home (way home), you
You can see it with the lights out (lights out), lights out (lights out)
You are in love, true love
You are in love
You kiss on sidewalks
You fight and you talk
One night, he wakes
Strange look on his face
Pauses, then says "You're my best friend"
And you knew what it was, he is in love
40. Change (Fearless)
when the two biggest hockey players of their generation come out of the closet—together—are in love with each other—it changes more lives than just theirs
So we've been outnumbered, raided, and now cornered
It's hard to fight when the fight ain’t fair
We're getting stronger now, finding things they never found
They might be bigger but we're faster and never scared
You can walk away, say we don't need this
But there's something in your eyes says we can beat this
'Cause these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah
Oh, oh
41. Call It What You Want (reputation)
When it stops mattering what anyone else thinks
All my flowers grew back as thorns
Windows boarded up after the storm
He built a fire just to keep me warm
All the drama queens taking swings
All the jokers dressing up as kings
They fade to nothing when I look at him
And I know I make the same mistakes every time
Bridges burn, I never learn
At least I did one thing right
I did one thing right
I'm laughing with my lover, makin' forts under covers
Trust him like a brother
Yeah, you know I did one thing right
Starry eyes sparkin' up my darkest night
My baby's fit like a daydream
Walking with his head down
I'm the one he's walking to
So call it what you want, yeah
Call it what you want to
42. Lover (Lover)
love
We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January
And this is our place, we make the rules
And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you, dear
Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close?
Forever and ever, ah
Take me out, and take me home
You're my, my, my, my lover
43. New Year’s Day (reputation)
love
You squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi
I can tell that it's gonna be a long road
I'll be there if you're the toast of the town, babe
Or if you strike out and you're crawling home
Don't read the last page
But I stay when it’s hard or it’s wrong or we're making mistakes
I want your midnights
But I’ll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's Day
44. Daylight (Lover)
Building a new life in the daylight
My love was as cruel as the cities I lived in
Everyone looked worse in the light
There are so many lines that I've crossed unforgiven
I'll tell you truth, but never goodbye
I once believed love would be (burning red)
But it's golden
Like daylight, like daylight
Like daylight, daylight
I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you
I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you
I've been sleeping so long in a 20-year dark night
And now I see daylight, I only see daylight

#27 for the winter prompts strikes me as distinctly Sternclay NSFW
Here you go!
27 i run a hot chocolate/cider booth at the local ice rink and you always flirt with me but i didn’t think it meant anything because you seem to flirt with everyone
Barclay’s family has lots of traditions come winter, the same as most people he knows. But his personal one is manning the “Sip n Slip” at the Kepler skating rink. He started volunteering there when he was 16 and stuck driving Jake to and from hockey practice. It was something to do, and he liked cooking and making drinks, even if it was just powdered cocoa and simple cookies.
Then he was coming back every winter when the stand opened to help out, and when he opted to stay in Kepler to work as a chef, he still made time to volunteer. He’s thirty now, the stand a little cramped for both him and the other volunteers, but the smell of warm sugar cookies and too-sweet cider takes him right back to his teens.
The same can be said of the man currently at the front of the line; he looks like a rom-com hero, with his black hair slicked back and his stylish coat and scarf, and Barclay has not been this close to popping a no-reason boner in months.
“How can help you?” he leans on the counter, smiling.
The man gives him a stealthy once-over before replying, “I’ll have a coffee, please. And a kid’s hot cocoa” he smiles at the young girl holding his hand, “anything else, Ellie?”
“No.”
“I guess that’s all.”
“That’ll be two bucks.”
The man hands him a five, letting their fingers touch. He does the same thing when Barclay gives him his change. When Barclay sets the to paper cups in front of him he adds, “cream and sugar is over at that little table.”
“I’d say there’s plenty of sugar here.” It’s so smooth that Barclay is still blushing as the man and the little girl disappear into the rink.
Maybe he should start making people give him their names with their orders.
And their phone numbers.
-------------------------------------------
“Hello again”
Barclay bounds to the counter (as much as six foot three man can bound anywhere), “Hey! Coffee and cocoa again?”
“Just coffee, my niece isn’t with me.”
He does a mental fist pump; the kid isn’t his, so maybe that’s a sign he’s single. As he’s trying to work out a non-creepy way to get his name, someone calls from across the room.
“Joseph! There you are man” a stockier guy in a ranger jacket waves.
“First day of rec hockey” Joseph smiles, “wish me luck.”
“Good luck.”
Joe winks, and then he’s gone. Barclay starts a new batch of cookies, looks at the door to the rink every two minutes for the next hour and a half until the other man emerges, sweaty and laughing. He’s twice as handsome as before. When he spots Barclay staring at him, he waves.
The cocoa packet in his hands turns two separate pieces, spilling powdered milk and sugar on the floor.
---------------------------------------------------------
“Back again?” He forces himself not to sound too excited at the fact Joseph is once again ordering coffee from him.
Blue eyes take on a glint, “With you here, how could I stay away?”
He’s this close to asking Joseph if he wants to get coffee somewhere nicer when the man waves another friend over, bumping shoulders and hands with him as they talk.
Okay. Maybe he’s just demonstrative with everyone. That’s cool.
Totally cool.
---------------------------------------------------------
He officially cannot tell if Joseph is flirting. Yes, he stops by the stand every time he’s at the rink (usually twice, once when he gets there and once before he leaves), and when it’s slow he sits in a plastic white chair and chats with him, tossing in winks and smiles whenever he says something complimentary. He’s animated, charming, and Barclay is now the living, breathing definition of “hopelessly crushing” on him.
But Barclay’s seen him talk the same way with his friends and teammates, and even with the other adults waiting to pick their kids up from the same class his niece attends. Barclay’s caught no fewer than four hockey moms and two hockey dads giving Joseph the eye.
He doesn’t blame them; he spends the slow part of his shifts imagining what Joseph looks like under his nice coat. Or his work out clothes. Or the Bigfoot-themed holiday sweater he started wearing in mid-December.
However, for the sake of his own sanity and not making a burgeoning friendship weird, he decides to treat all of their interactions as platonic unless Joseph explicitly says otherwise. So when Joseph asks if he’d like to go skating on Saturday, Barclay agrees immediately and then focuses on not getting his hopes up.
Confusingly, Joseph tells him to be at Tenney Park at three in the afternoon, rather than at the rink. He arrives at five til one and discovers that the fully frozen pond is now a skating hot spot, complete with skate rentals. Barclay brought his own skates; his feet are large enough that getting a rental pair that fit is a crap-shoot.
Joseph is waiting for him on a bench, reading on his phone. He’s in his black coat, the one that makes him look like a secret agent on a ski vacation. The late December sun peeks through the clouds, and Barclay’s pretty sure a beam illuminates Joseph perfectly while a heavenly choir sings.
No, wait, there are some carolers down the street.
“I’m so glad you made it.” Joseph moves the pair of skates from the spot beside him and pats the cold stone. Barclay sits down, and they chat about the mystery series that Joseph got him hooked on. It takes twice as long as normal for him to lace up his skates, because whenever he glances to his right, Joseph is watching him with a smile and his fingers forget how to work.
They wobble over to the ice and step on. The first few strides are fine, but then he hits a groove followed by a small dip and almost falls on his ass. On a normal rink, it’d be a fluke. But there are no Zambonies in the wild.
“This is, whoahfuck, harder on lake ice.” He flails a second time, sticks a hand out for balance only for it to be caught by Joseph’s own.
“I like the challenge. But don’t worry big guy, I’ve got you.”
“Thanks, blue eyes.”
The nickname is a complete accident, brought on by the fact that Barclay is staring into his eyes to avoid reading too much into the held hand. The hand that Joseph doesn’t let go off, even as they move onto a smoother patch of ice.
All that rec hockey is paying off, because Joseph practically waltzes them around in circles, never bumping into anyone or losing his footing as they talk. They compare notes on holiday gifts and new years plans, and Joseph laughs when Barclay regales him with the story of the great babka debacle of 2014.
Barclay’s so caught up in their conversation that he misses an odd bump in the ice and goes sideways into the snow-covered grass to his left, taking Joseph with him accidentally. Joseph ends up on top of him, both cackling like kids at the chaos of the moment. Barclay shivers, snow sneaking under his coat.
“Wanna, uh, get some coffee to warm up?”
“Sure” Joseph smiles.
“Bet that stand uses the same mix mine does.”
“Oh, um, I was thinking we could go back to my place for it. I’m only a few blocks that way.”
There’s no way he’s missing a chance to see Joseph’s house (he has a bet going with Dani that  it’s immaculate, while Dani insists Joseph could be a stealth slob), and so ten minutes later he’s pulling off his boots in the entryway of a one bedroom, first floor apartment. The walls sport several elegantly done cryptozoology posters, he spies a pile of cookbooks he recommended on the kitchen counter, and the whole place looks like it’s been tidied within the last day. He texts Dani a stealthy photo, then settles on the couch while Joseph moves about the kitchen.
God, he wants to go in there and wrap his arms around him, kiss him against the counter until they both see stars.
Easy, Barclay, easy. He cannot ruin a good day with a friend.
“I also have some wine, if you’d like that instead of, or with, coffee.”
He glances at the Kraken clock on the wall, “Sure, it’s late enough.”
Joseph walks in, now in just his sweater and pants, stopping to a light a candle before setting two wine glasses on the coffee table. He’s pouring as the sun sets, the change in light helping the room feeling warm and cozy.
“Careful, you keep up those romantic touches and I might think this is a date.” He teases.
Joseph looks up, wine perilously close to the edge of the glass, “wait, this isn’t a date?”
“Uh, I, uh, I, I didn’t want to assume, I mean, do you want it to be a date?”
“Barclay” Joseph sets the bottle down, “I asked you out to something outside of the normal way of spending time together, without anyone else present, and kept holding your hand. And I kept flirting with you.”
“I know, but you kinda flirt with everyone.”
A self-deprecating laugh as Joseph joins him on the couch “Some work habits are hard to turn off; I have to be good at getting people at ease with me, to like me, because then they share information more readily. I guess that could make it hard for someone else to tell the difference.”
“So, uh” Barclay’s fingers cling to the knees of his jeans, “does that mean I could maybe, uh, kiss you?”
Joseph cups his cheek, guiding him in for a gentle kiss on his still chilly lips. Barclay whimpers, spends a moment embarrassed by the noise before Joseph lets out a little growl and shoves him backwards, climbing on top of him and kissing him demandingly.
“‘Grrr’ to you too, babeAHhhhfuck” He rolls his hips as Joseph grinds down and sucks teasingly on his lower lip.
“Is, is that okay?” His black hair is coming loose from it’s gelled swoop, he’s blushing, and his eyes are wider than Barclay’s ever seen.
“Oh my god it’s so much more than okay.” Barclay groans, bringing his hands up to squeeze his ass and press them closer, “fuck, babe, do you have any idea how many times I wanted to drag you into the stand and, fuck, and cover your mouth so no one would know how hard I was making you cum.”
“Lordalmighty” Joseph jerks his hips, “why didn’t you?’
“Because I OH, oh yeah, bite there again, I wasn’t sure you liked me that way, and I really like you, and I didn’t wanna fuck things up.”
Joseph kisses his cheek, murmurs in his ear “Well, now that you know the truth, I want you to fuck me up, big guy. Think you can do that?”
Barclay growls for real this time, flipping them so they’re on their sides and Joseph’s back is pressed to the cushions of the couch. He grabs the dark haired man’s leg, hooking it over his own.
“Yeah, blue eyes, I think I can.”
With that he slams their lips together, grinding his hips hard as the couch springs wobble under them and Joseph tangles his hands into his hair. His hands make up for lost time, slipping under Josephs shirt, dipping below his pants, mapping as much as him as they can find.
“Barclay I AHlord, I have a bed you know?”
“We can use that next time, burned through all my patience not jumping you at the rink.”
He feels Joseph smile, “Fine by me.”
“Fuck” he drags his mouth down, Joseph laughing when his beard scratches his neck, “fuck there’s so much I wanna do to you. Bet it’s so fucking fun to fuck you after practice, bet you’re all worn out and wanna be taken care of.”
“Holy shit.” Joseph matches his pace, working his hips as best he can in time with Barclay’s increasingly erratic thrusts.
“Gonna keep you in bed all day, babe, suck you off so good you’ll beg me to come back tomorrow, gonna show you just how good I can treat you with this” he gives a sharper thrust for emphasis, “gonna, fuck, ohfuck, Joseph, fuckfuck” he cums hard, lifts his hand up to hold onto the top of the couch as the rides it out, Joseph moaning into his mouth and functionally pinned  between him and the cushions.
“Fuck I, I didn’t mean to cum in my pants like it’s my first fucking time.”
“Don’t apologize, that’s the best thing anyone’s done with me in months. Now” he nips Barclay’s ear,  “show me how creative you are, big guy, and get me off.”
“Hell fucking yeah.” Between the two of them they contort enough to get Joseph's pants open and down, Barclay shifting back slightly to slide his hands into his boxer briefs, the front of which is completely soaked.
“That’s so fucking hot, can’t believe you want me that bad”
“Nnnnnhuh” Is what Joseph manages in reply, his face pressed into the crook of Barclay’s neck, breath coming in short, warm bursts as he jacks him off. Barclay pays attention to which motions make him louder, which make him wiggle his hips with more force, and peppers the side of his face with kisses, wondering how the fuck he got so lucky.
Joseph gets less eloquent the longer Barclay works him over, sinks his teeth into the neck of his shirt as he cums, whole body taut and picture perfect as he does. Barclay pulls his hand away, flopping it over Joseph's hip as they lay panting, the dark haired man nudging them so he can rest against Barclay’s chest while the larger man thanks the lucky stars floating somewhere just above the ceiling for all this.
“Do you, um, want to stay for dinner? I have to do laundry anyway, so I can toss your clothes in so you don’t have to drive home like that” He ghosts a hand over the damp spot by Barclay’s fly.
“That an excuse to have me wandering around your place naked?”
“Not entirely. Your shirt is fine, and I think I have some underwear that will fit you.”
“Fine, half-naked.” He kisses the top of his head.
“When you put it like that, yes. This is both an excuse to have you half-naked in my house and to spend more time with you. Which might be my favorite thing in the world; seeing you at the rink was always the best part of my day.”
Barclay cuddles him closer, wrapping him in his arms to keep away any lingering ice in the air. “Mine too.”

Mine Forever (Yandere! Revenant x reader)
Warning: gore and blood
Summary: revenant has finally found someone who knows how he feels being a robot and now he’ll never let them go
Tumblr media
You don't remember how it all happened, you didn't want it to happen. The blood of your teammates no not only your teammates but the other legends: their blood, their internal organs, their crushed bones painted the walls of the drop ship and standing in the center of the bloody mess.....him.
A week before the incident
You were a new legend to the apex games. You walk onto the drop-ship with your combat boots, black baggy pants, a crop top and an oversized black jacket covering your body. The legends look at you and introduced themselves except for one of them, a red robot that was fiddling with a black burnt ball all he did was stare at me. You ignored him but you still wanted to get along with him so maybe you'll talk to him later.
The drop ship takes off to the arena and you look at the board to see that you were on a team with Bangalore and bloodhound. You got on a platform with them and head to the geyser, and started to looting the area you got ok stuff, a level one body shield, a wingman and an r103. You head towards the ring but you ended up running into an enemy squad. The enemy took a lot of our health and we did not have a lot of medkits or shields. You tried looting a death boxes but we were third party by another team. The team was octane, mirage and revenant, you stare at revenant as he shoots you down. He looks at you and chuckled, "death is coming rookie but I'll make sure it won't come to you.......for now" he shoots you in the head sending you back to the drop ship eliminating your team. You looked up at the screens of the drop ship and see that revenant was the new kill leader but what did he mean by death won't come to me yet?
You keep looking at the battle and revenant's team wins the game. They come back to the drop ship and everyone cheered for them. Mirage stood in a table, "drinks on us tonight guys" octane butts in, "you mean drink are on you" everyone laughs as we all head to the bar
When we got to the bar all the legends sat in a booth but one revenant. He won too didnt he? He should be having fun too. You look around and see revenant sitting at the bar alone. You sigh and get up from the booth, mirage looks at you, "hey newbie where ya heading?" You look at mirage, "I'm gonna y'all to revenant." The legends look at you like you grew three heads, mirage chuckles awkwardly, "youuuuu don't want that sweetheart trust me he's......crazy not caustic crazy but insane crazy." You roll your eyes, "I'll be fine I'm a big girl guys" you walk over to revenant and sit next to him, you see him drink whiskey, you decide to order it too even though you never had it before. You take a sip of the whiskey it was bitter the taste surprised you so much you started coughing up the disgusting taste. You hear a chuckle you look next to you to see revenant laughing at you a little, "you acquire a taste for whiskey don't get it just because I'm getting it." You smile a bit, "I wanted to make you comfortable at least since you never seem to talk to me." Revenant looks at you, "I spoke to you on the battlefield plus I'm not the type to make friends." You put your head on your hand, "why are you here for mr. revenant?" He sighs, "will you leave me alone if I tell you?" You sigh, "sure I'll leave you alone if you tell me" he drinks the rest of his whiskey then starts talking, "I'm here for vengeance, I was human once until....they made me like this..." he slams his fist down when he says 'they' you look at you even more curious, "and who are they?" He growls and looks at you, "you said you'll leave me alone once you ask your question right?!" You gulp a bit scared but you didn't wanna show him fear, "m-maybe I can help." He grips his hands into fist tightly, "how can someone like you change me back to human?" You sigh and rest your hands on his clench fist, "I can't help with that but I can help you cope." He looks at me, "you'll never know how I feel rookie." You turn your body towards his, "really?" You lift up your pants leg exposing your robotic legs with the labels Hammond Robotics stamped to it, "i know what they did to you. Everyone talked about the man that turned to metal by Hammond robotics." He looks at your legs and chuckles, "you and I aren't so different huh?" You pull your pants legs back down, "I know what you've been through now can we be friends?" He sighs and orders two shots of vodka for us, "alright but I don't want the other legends thinking I'm soft so don't talk to me like we're friends during the games or around them." You giggle a bit as you two clink shot glasses, "deal I hope we become close revenant."
Present time
Those words wanting to become close to revenant You didn't expect him to take it so seriously. Every minute outside the arena he was near you causing you to stay away from the other legends. On the dropship to the arena Lifeline, octane and a few other legends wanted to go out into town with you and you said yes. But what you didn't know was that revenant was ease-dropping on the conversation making him quietly crush his little burnt ball into nothing.
After the game you head home to get ready for the outing with the other legends. They still didn't know about your legs so you wore long black pants and a fancy red top with black boots. You head to the drop ship but it was quiet too quiet. You enter the drop ship to a dark room, you step forward into something wet but it wasn't just any liquid it was..... blood! You turn the light on in the drop ship to see the corps of your legend friends on the floor lifeless. Their stomach was spilling out of them and their bones were clearly crushed. You look up to see in the middle of the blood mess him....revenant with the organs of what seems to be mirage in his hand. Your eyes widen, "r-revenant what did you do?!!" He chuckled, "you were gonna abandon me my friend and I can't have that now can I?" You gulp a bit scared, "b-but I wasn't gonna abandon you! I just wanted to have other friends!" He holds his knife hand up to your neck, "you are not aloud to have other friends if you do I'll make sure they won't see the light of day ever again." You start to cry a bit, "revenant please stop this I'm scared." He grabs your right pants leg and rips it off exposing your robotic leg, "how about this I'll give you a 1 minute head start to run away from me but if I catch you you're mine forever." He pushes you out the dropship, "clocks ticking" you run away from the drop ship you run so fast that you didn't want to look back. You had to hide. You decide to hide in an alley way hoping that revenant won't find you. It felt like you were in the alley forever but as long as you didn't see revenant you were fine. You think a minute or two has passed he probably lost you, you slowly let your guard down but you shouldn't have. Revenant jumps from a building and lands right in front of you, "now.....you're mine forever

Small Frames Leave Big Shadows: Haikyuu Coffee Shop AU
Tumblr media
“We’re closing in ten,” called Carrie from the back. The shop had been slower than any other day this week. Carrie, my boss, had sent all the high school students home early while keeping me and another closer on. Her announcement was directed at the staff but it’s intended audience was the customers still littered around the coffee shop.
My eyes roll as I turn to make drinks for the few high school students staying later to finish a group project due tomorrow. “Eichi, you should know to do your work earlier. Coach Sugawara isn’t going to be lenient on you.” I pass the handmade drink to the taller high schooler. He’s been a regular since his 1st year in high school.
“I know, Miss,” he says. “He lectures me as much as my dad.” He smiles the same beaming, white grin that I see almost every day. “We’ll be out soon. We’re almost done studying. Who knew English was so difficult.”
“Good luck on your test tomorrow.” I called to the teen but he was too busy walking back to his friends. He sent a small wave my way while fixing the obnoxiously swoopy hair.
I go back to making the cold brews and lattes for the evening. Usually, I would be watching the clock for the official closing time; however, Carrie must’ve scared off the rest of the people as the building slowly became a ghost town.
My hands work towards cleaning the used cups and putting away any remaining coffee beans. I felt a large hand on my head as Carrie nugged through my hair. “I’ll let Sato be the official closer for tonight. You’ve been putting in a lot of hours.”
“Thank you,” I sigh. Even during less-than-busy days, my feet ache with blisters from all the walking and my knees grew tired. I finish up with the small amount of washing to turn and see my boss in her tall frame. She has on a puffy winter coat since the January winter was hitting hard this year. “I’ll lock up so that he doesn’t have to.”
“Good girl,” says my boss while placing the keys in my hand. I was the opener tomorrow so the keys would be returned within a few hours. “I’m going to head out.”
“See you tomorrow,” I say while going into the dining area to pick up any spare cups left by trash cans or tables. Once I’d gathered the few cups and returned back behind the bar, the time had finally hit for close.
Placing the mugs and cups into the sink, I washed each one delicately. “You really should lock the door before more people arrive,” said the other closer. He was a grumpy, middle-aged man whose love for coffee outweighed his dislike for people.
I nod my head while grabbing my coat. Even though the door will only be open for a second, it still is freezing cold. I walk out into the brisk late night air. The sun set long ago and left the moon in its wake. My fingers fumble with the keys due to the bitter wind.
“Wait!” called a younger voice. My gaze turns to see a person running towards the door. He was not dressed for the weather outside. He wore a volleyball jersey and some sweatpants. His bright orange hair lit up the bland outside. I couldn’t help but watch as he finally caught up the door. “Did I make it in time?”
“Well, I was about to lock the door,” I mumble. The man was panting as if he had sprinted the full way from the stadium. He hobbled over while holding his knees as a support. After I spoke, his eyes turned up to meet mine. It was the same eyes that would always come in later in the day. Normally, I can tell who it is by the neon hair; however, a lot of people have taken to the trend of dying theirs to match their favorite player.
“Shit,” he shouted. “The game ran late. Astumu told me that I’d never make it on time. Please. I’ll pay you extra. I need this to do better in my games.” His fist was balled up in excitement as he stood tall, well, as tall as he could stand.
“You’re Hinata right?” I say. “The decoy I’ve been hearing so much about.” His wide eyes grew at the thought of someone else knowing his name.
“Yes!” he shouts. The addrenallen must’ve ran out due to the man shivering in the cold. My eyes flicker back and forth between the open door and the volleyball blocker.
“Fine,” I say while putting my keys into the door. “I’ll let you this one time but you have to take it to go. I wouldn’t want you freezing all this way to return empty handed.
As I walked back into the shop, I tried to not look at the glarning anger sent my way from my co-worker. “I promise I’ll be fast.” I don't know if the shorty’s comment was towards me or towards my counterpart. I took over the till as Sato went to mop the floors.
“Can I have a cappuccino to go with some hazelnut please?”
“Okay. What size?”
“The biggest size you have,” he says. All of his words were said with an excitement that left a full smile on my face even after a long day of work.
He hands me his card. I finish the transaction before quickly making his drink. Sato and Carrie would not be happy with the service I was providing. I was lucky that my coworker had yet to count the money in the til.
The smell of filter espresso permitted the room. “So, Hinata,” I say. “What made you run all this way for coffee? There is a shop a little closer to your arena.”
Hinata puts his hands together as if to warm the blue-tinted fingertips. “Oh. I have always come here since the games started. Bokuto says it's my ritual. The one time I went to the other coffee shop, we lost that game. All my teammates tell me that I have to come here or we’ll lose.”
My hands absentmindedly pour the espresso into the drink. “So we’re your good luck charm?”
“Actually, I thought you were.” My eyes shoot up from the cup in front of me. He continued, “You’re always here when I am. Either you work too many hours or you’re good luck. I tried going this morning before practice but you weren’t here.”
I placed the lid on his coffee before turning to see the orange-haired man had a slight blush on his face. “Well, here’s your drink.” I pass the hot liquid over until our hands touch.
“Thanks.” His voice held a stutter that wasn’t there before. “I really appreciate you staying later to make this for me.”
“No problem,” I say. His small frame turns towards the door. I follow him with my eyes while wondering what to say to keep the conversation going.
“Uhm, Hinata?” I call. My voice spoke before my mind processed the words. His hair flopped as he turned to look at me. “I have a few closing things that need to get done. You’ll get too cold if you continue to walk outside in this weather. Let me walk you at least to my bus stop.”
His smile sparkled more than the shimmering moon. “Thank you.” His grace was given at the cost of the smile. “I forgot to grab a jacket when I left.”
“I might have one that’s in the lost and found. Let me check.” I quickly walked to the back room before Hinata had a moment to reply. Even I could feel the warmth beneath my cheeks.
I finish up the small tasks behind the scenes. I praised any higher being that Carrie let me go home earlier rather than staying the extra hour to close. Sato, although being grumpy, was an extremely hard worker.
“Sato,” I say while picking up a large coat that won’t fit the tangerine’s frame. “I’m going to head out. See you in a few days.”
The man gruffed out a goodbye as we walked out the door. “So, why did you want to walk me to your stop?” he asks. His form seemed much smaller in the large coat. Tufts of hair were messed up from the collar.
“Oh.” It was my turn to stutter. “I wanted to make sure you weren’t running with the drink.” Lie. “You could spill it.” Another lie. “I like taking care of my customers.” While that wasn’t a lie, it wasn’t the reason I followed him.
My mention of his drink made the man take a sip. “I should be the one walking you. After all, I am the man.” He puffed out his chest which only looked silly in the already puffed out leather.
A chuckle passed my lips. “What’s so funny?” he continues.
“It’s just-” I pause to take a breath between my laughter. “-I’m not sure. It may be that the coat’s too big for you. Sorry. It was the only thing that was left.”
He looks down to see that the jacket was almost past his knees in length. He shrugs his shoulders before taking another sip of coffee. “It’s alright. I’ve always had to live in massive shadows. What’s one helpful coat more.”
Hinata’s face turned to look at me once again. The smile from before was replaced by a serious look. “Hey this might be too forward but I don’t have a game tomorrow night. Would you like to go to dinner or something. I have to replace your kindness somehow.”
My footsteps were caught on the uneven gravel. I stumbled but didn’t fall. The blocker’s movements were instinctive to catch me even though it was a stumble. “Sorry, sorry,” I apologize quickly. “You caught me off guard.”
I look back to see his worried face scrunched into a question. “Is that a no?”
“Oh, no, no. I would love to go to dinner with you.” Hinata gave a sigh of relief. “Here. Put your number in my phone and I’ll text you later.”
I reached into my pocket to find my simple phone and give it to the man. He inputs his number before handing it back. We continue our walk for a few more steps before we end up at the bus stop.
“Thank you for walking me,” he says. “I look forward to that text later. My teams won’t believe that I get to go on a date tomorrow. Especially with you.”
“Good night Hinata,” I say while the 9:30 bus pulls up to the stop. The orange haired man waves goodbye to me with his empty hand.
As I take a seat on the bus, I find Hinata’s number and send a quick text to him; hopeful that he may reply soon.

Chapter 8
Warning: Sex!! (NO under 18)
Alexis and Carl arrive at the Wild Pony.
“You go find us a table, I’ll get you a beer,” says Carl.
Alexis smiles and leaves Carl at the bar while she finds a table. Only a minute later Carl returns with two bottles of Bud Light.
“So, what up with you and this Alejandro?” asks Carl.
Alexis take a swig of her beer, “he’s my brother’s co-worker of sorts. Matt wants to play match maker,” she answers.
“Well if your brother tries to set you up with a guy he works with it’s usually cause he’s a good guy,” comments Carl.
“You don’t even know this guy,” says Alexis.
Carl shrugs and smiles. Alexis feels her phone buzzing in her pocket, she retrieves it and answers seen Kates name on the screen.
“What’s up Kate?” she asks.
“I need a drink you want to join?” asks Kate.
Alexis glances at Carl, “well I’m already having a drink with Carl,” she responds.
“Can we meet you there?” asks Kate.
Alexis covers the phone’s microphone and asks Carl if it’s okay if Kate came over. Carl did not mind, so Alexis tells Kate the name of the bar.
“Do you come to this place often?” asks Alexis.
“Sometimes,” says Carl.
“I always knew you were a cowboy,” comments Alexis.
“Yeah, I like to ride,” flirts Carl with a wink.
Alexis softly blushes, “Oh god,” she splutters.
“I can show you later,” continues Carl.
“I might take you up for it, been a while,” admits Alexis.
Several minutes later Kate and Reggie arrive, and they sit with the pair. After a couple of minutes joking they were approached by a guy who greeted Reggie.
“Aren’t you going to introduce us?” asks the guy.
“This is Kate, Alexis, and Carl. This is Ted he’s Phoenix PD,” introduces Reggie.
Ted waves at everyone at the table, but his eyes don’t leave Kate. Kate on the other hand is blushing at the attention he is giving her. Alexis is the only one to notice.
“You want to go dance?” asks Carl offering Alexis his hand.
Alexis smiles up at Carl and take his hand. The pair go to the dance floor and dance a slow country song.
“You don’t trust the guy,” points out Carl.
“Something off about him,” says Alexis.
“Kate’s a big girl she can defend herself, besides she has Reggie with her,” comforts Carl.
“Yeah your right,” says Alexis.
Alexis pushes her worry to the back of her mind for now. Enjoy the drop of normality she was experiencing at the moment. They danced for another hour or so, Kate and Ted joined them in the dance floor. Alexis get on her tippy toes and kisses Carl on the lips.
“I’d like to see what the cowboy can do,” purrs Alexis.
Carl smiles down at her and takes her hand and starts to lead her to his car.
Outside Alejandro sit in his car and waits Kate to leaves the bar but he sees another familiar face walking hand in hand with a man. Without know Alexis walks by Alejandro’s car and he can see the smile on her face. Alejandro could not help but feel jealous, but he had to look out for Kate.
Alexis and Carl reach his car. Carl opens Alexis door before rushing to the driver’s side.
“You place or mine?” he asks.
Alexis ponders, “mine,” she says.
Carl nods and starts the car, “I’ll need you to tell me where we are going,” he says.
“Yup,” answers Alexis.
When they arrived at her apartment they start to make out but before things get too steamy in the couch Alexis leads Carl into her bedroom.
“Sorry I don’t want Kate to walk in on us,” says Alexis.
Carl nods taking off his close. Alexis also takes off her close in a rush. One they are both naked, Alexis pulls Carl towards her and kisses him. Carl pushes Alexis down to her bed and starts to kiss her clavicle. Alexis lets out a low moan.
“Come one cowboy get to it,” she rushes.
Carl smirks and grabs his manhood and puts a condom on. He guides it to Alexis entrance, thrusting his hips forward entering her completely.
“Fuck!” moans Alexis placing both hands around Carl’s shoulders.
Carl starts to thrust faster into Alexis. The one silent room is filled with grunts and moans. Eventually they both reach their climax, and Carl drops next to Alexis trying to catch his breath.
After a couple of silent minutes, they both got dressed. Carl looks at his phone and sees he has a call form one of his teammates.
“Shit let me call my teammate,” says Carl.
“Yeah no problem, I should get some rest, Matt wants us to meet him early in the morning,” says Alexis.
Alexis walks Carl to her front door and they share a last kiss before he opens the door and heads to his car.
Alexis goes back to her room and gets her clothes ready to shower. She’s about to leave her room to go to the bathroom when she hears the door open and close. She pokes her head out of her room to see if it was Kate. Noticing she was making out with Ted; Alexis decides it would be best to wait on the shower. She gently closes her bedroom door, but then she hears the couple talking.
“Talk to me Kate,” says Ted, “come on Kate,” he begs.
This causes Alexis to frown and open her door once again and she notices Kate pushing Ted away.
“Hey, leave her alone!” calls out Alexis.
Ted turn to look at Alexis and Kate takes advantage and grabs her gun pointing it at Ted. He then turns back and is faces with Kate pointing the gun at him, but he knocks the gun out of her hands. Alexis runs to the living room and tries to get her gun, but she pulled back by her shirt. Alexis turns and punched Ted right on the nose. This only stops him for a moment, angered Ted pushes Kate out the way causing her to hit her head and fall unconscious. He lunges grabs Alexis hair and pulls her back.
“You should have minded your own business,” he says pushing her to the ground.
Alexis attempt to crawl towards Kate’s gun, but Ted grabs her leg and pulls her back. He then flips her over and places his knees over her abdomen.
“You caused this,” he says.
Alexis punches him in the jaw, but he doesn’t get off her. He instead places his hands around her neck. Squeezing tighter and tighter. Alexis claws at his face and hands, but she is unable to pry his hands form her neck. Alexis starts to see blurry when a figure enters the apartment.
“Psst” calls Alejandro pointing the gun at Teds head.
In fear Ted lets go of Alexis neck and gets off her. Alexis turn to the left and start to cough trying to regain her breath. Alexis get up dizzily and approaches Kate who is still unconscious.
“Kate,” she calls out, “shit Kate.”
Alejandro holds Ted to the floor and calls for back up from his radio. Only a minute later Matt arrives with a paramedic and they rush to Alexis and Kate.
“Alexis you alright?” asks Matt.
“Yeah,” answers Alexis clearly still out of breath.
The paramedic uses smelling salt to bring back Kate, and he check her over for a concussion. Luckily she is fine, she didn’t even a cut. After the paramedic was done he left the apartment leaving them alone with Ted.
Matt looks over at his sister and notices the tears threatening to spill for her eyes. He looks at Alejandro who takes Ted to the SUV to be questioned in private.
After a bit of silence Kate walks to the kitchen where a new pack of cigarettes are waiting for her. Matt and Alexis follow her. They see her trembling hands open the cigarette carton.
Kate lights if up and take a puff, “you used me as bait,” she points out.
“Nah you used yourself as bait. Told you not to go into the bank,” counters Matt.
Alexis only rubs the back of her neck feeling that Ted would not have seen Kate if she hadn’t gone out with Carl.
Kate looks over at Alexis, “you knew about this” she accuses.
“She didn’t, she was on a date, it was unintentional that you arrive at the same bar,” defends Matt.
“Really she told me what bar she was in when I called, seemed like a set up,” counters Kate.
“She risked her life for you, you don’t have a bruise forming around your neck,” scolds Matt.
“Yeah after you made her use me as bait,” hisses Kate.
Alexis refuses to say anything and leaves the kitchen, she already felt guilty enough that she had invited Kate to the bar. Matt follows Alexis with his sight until he can no longer see her.
“She cares for you, she lost a partner, doesn’t want that to happen again,” says Matt in a calmer tone.
Kate says nothing.
“She didn’t know you were bait, but I knew you would be a walking target. You didn’t follow orders went into the bank, almost got Alexis killed, write that on your report,” states Matt before leaving the kitchen.
Matt walks out of the apartment and sees Alexis standing next to Reggie. Her hands covering her face.
“It’s not your fault Alexis,” comforts Matt.
“Why do I feel like it is?” Alexis asks.
“Your brother is right, you didn’t know Ted would be there, it my fault I introduced them,” says Reggie.
Alexis lets out a saddened sigh and leaves the two men going back up to her apartment. She walks into the bathroom and splashes her face with cold water. She looks up at her reflection noticing the bruises forming on her neck.
Alejandro approaches the bathroom and sees Alexis touching the bruises on her neck.
“You alright?” asks Alejandro.
Alexis lowers her head and start to quietly sob. Alejandro enters the bathroom and places a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“It’s okay to cry,” he comforts.
Alexis moves and wraps her arms around him and starts to sob into his chest. Alejandro places one arm around her and the other on the back of her head. He holds her close as she cries. Alexis mumbles into his chest but he can’t make out any of the words that are leaving her mouth.
“Don’t do that again,” begs Alejandro.
Alexis leans up and looks at him, “Do what?” she questions. Her eyes and nose red from the crying.
“Don’t get into danger, he could have killed you,” clarifies Alejandro.
Alexis only wipes her tears and looks at Alejandro now tear stained shirt. “I’m sorry,” she mumbles.
Alejandro follows her line of vision and chuckles, “For a bad ass you are very caring,” he points out.
Alexis just sniffle. Alejandro smiles down at her and leans down and kisses her forehead. Alejandro turns to leave but remembers what he witnessed earlier.
“Almost forgot, how was your date?” he questions .Alexis had forgotten about the event that had happened before the ordeal with Ted. Alexis smiled and blushed remembering Carl, she looks up at Alejandro and clears her throat, “it was good,” she says simply.
“I’m glad you had fun,” says Alejandro, “I’ll see you tomorrow, Alexis,” he expresses.
“See you tomorrow, Alexandro,” she calls after him.

Be Mine, Valentine (White Rose Week #3)
Fandom: RWBY
Pairing: White Rose
Word Count: 6871
Rating: G
Synopsis: Weiss and Ruby figure out how to do Valentine’s Day together.
Prompt: Valentine
Links: FFN | AO3
Notes: I’ve made my edits, added the links, and changed the title, because it made no sense.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So, Valentine's Day is around the corner, huh? Bet you're pretty excited about buying some chocolates for your crush." Team RWBY had separated into pairs, in order to diversify their training. Weiss and Yang had gone to the training room to practice hand to hand combat, which doubled as strengthening Weiss's arms. Of course, Yang being Yang, it hadn't taken her long to start trying to distract both of them with unnecessary topics like 'Valentine's Day'.
"First off, I do not have a crush on anyone. I do not know where you get such ridiculous ideas." Weiss huffed as she threw another punch at the punching bag Yang was holding. She understood that hand to hand combat was important, because one couldn't always rely on having their weapon at the ready. However, her body wasn't built for such things. At that point, she was sweating from her exertions, which didn't benefit someone as prim and proper as her. Her clothes were becoming soaked through with it, sticking to her cold, sweaty arms and legs. She definitely needed a shower the moment they were done. "Secondly, we are training to become huntresses. Where do you find the time to celebrate such trivialities?"
"On the day of that triviality," Yang replied, smirking as she watched Weiss wipe sweat from her forehead. She was close to making her teammate take a break, because otherwise she would force herself to continue until she collapsed. Weiss sure was lucky she had someone as cool and thoughtful as Yang looking out for her. They weren't Freezerbros for nothing. "Life isn't entirely just us training to be huntresses. We're allowed to have fun, ya know?"
"I am aware," she replied tersely, throwing a fist at the punching bag. Her punches were becoming weaker, her breathing noticeably heavier. "But what's the point of Valentine's Day anyway? It's just a day for people in relationships to throw their happiness in the face of those who are without companions." That had come out more bitter than she'd meant it to, and she quickly deviated from that path. "In case you weren't aware, I do not have a partner, nor a crush to make a fool of myself towards. This sort of holiday is more for you."
"You do have a partner, though: Ruby." Yang pulled the bag back, out of Weiss's reach. By the way the poor girl looked like she was about to collapse, it was clearly time to take a breather. She let the bag swing back and forth as it tried to come to a stop, beckoning Weiss over to the nearby wall. "C'mon Weiss, time to take a breather. Have some water before we get back to practice."
"She is my partner, not my partner." Weiss pursed her lips, realizing how strange that sounded. Sighing, she followed Yang over to the wall, where she watched as her teammate flopped down on her butt and popped open the tab top on her water bottle. She waterfalled it, water dripping down her chin and onto her tank top before she offered it to Weiss. "Thank you." She took the water and drank it with more prose, slowly sitting down next to Yang.
"You can be real with me, you know?" Yang slung a sweaty arm around Weiss's shoulders, which made her instinctively recoil. "We're Freezerbros, right?" Weiss rolled her eyes at the cutesy nickname: a bastardization of their duo attack name that Ruby had come up with. "You can tell me that you like Ruby. I'm not gonna be mad, promise."
"If you think I care about how you would react to something like that, you ought to think otherwise." This was a good time to not mention that she had a few stray thoughts concerning Yang using her strength to shatter her like one of her summons. "I really don't understand why you think I have feelings for Ruby. What could have possibly made you believe that to be the truth?" She saw a glimmer appear in Yang's eyes: one that showed a challenge had been thrown down, and she was ready to compete.
"Let's see..." Sticking out her hand, Yang started to count off the reasons on her fingers. "You act like being around Ruby is such a bother, but you're constantly watching over her whenever she gets in over her head. I've caught you staring at her when she isn't looking multiple times. For example, you were watching her talk to Blake about what the two of them were going to do just this morning, with the most longing look I've ever seen."
"That... That is not what happened!" Weiss's blush said otherwise. As pale as she was, when she grew embarrassed, her blush took over her entire face. It flooded with a deep red, letting Yang know everything she needed to. "I just happened to be staring in the direction she was standing. I was not staring at her, and you would do well to remember that!" She could deflect all she wanted, but her blush told the true story, and she couldn't hide that.
"Whenever we're training, you're always looking over at Ruby rather than at Blake or I. Honestly, I feel hurt." She didn't seem hurt, though, grinning all the while. Weiss made sure to stick her tongue out at her, like a mature young adult. "You talk about her all the time, and I mean all the time. I'm surprised you don't even realize how often her name is on your lips."
"I... do not know..." The fact that she was malfunctioning right in front of Yang almost made her feel bad for being so blunt. However, Weiss was a blunt girl herself. Surely she could take her own medicine. She coughed into her fist, trying to straighten herself up. "Yang, I do not have a crush on your sister. I do not talk excessively about her, nor do I look out for her any more than another partner would do. By that logic, Pyrrha and Nora must have crushes on their partners, and I find that hard to believe." Suddenly, Yang yanked her arm away from her shoulder, having taken a drink of water and then spit it out all over the bottle and the floor. "What the hell, Yang?!"
"Bwahaha, oh my... You... Bwahaha!" She lost control of herself, spilling water all over the floor as she convulsed with laughter. For a full minute, she couldn't answer any of Weiss's questions: the way her face switched between concerned and annoyed just made it better. Finally, she was able to speak while flat on her back, her shirt now drenched in water. "Did you just say that it's hard to believe that Pyrrha and Nora have crushes on their partners?"
"What's so funny about that?" Blushing deeper, Weiss shrunk back as the realization of what Yang was trying to say struck her. "No way... Oh come on! You can't tell me that Pyrrha has a crush on Jaune!" Yang just grinned at her, telling her all she needed to know. "Unbelievable... She could do so much better." Sighing, she ran a hand through her hair, feeling overheated. "W-Well, I don't care how they feel about their partners. It's completely different between Ruby and myself. We're just friends!"
"Uh huh, just like Blake and I, right?" She was sure that if she made Weiss blush any more, the blood might actually burst from her cheeks. "Look, this Valentine's Day, just call me Cupid Xiao Long, alright? I'm gonna get Pyrrha and Nora to confess to their partners, and I'll do the same with you before the day is done. Everybody will be happy, and you three will thank me. Perhaps with a steak dinner or two. Your treat, of course."
"In your dreams." Weiss rolled her eyes, standing up and punching her fist into her palm. "Now come on. Are we here to train or gossip about things that you made up inside that silly little mind of yours?" Grunting, Yang got up on her feet and shrugged her shoulders, heading over towards the punching bag. It didn't matter how much Weiss pretended that she wasn't interested in Ruby. Everyone within a twenty mile radius could see the truth, and she was going to show Weiss that fact, even if she had to drag her kicking and screaming towards it.
As for Weiss, she resumed punching the bag Yang was holding, if only to ignore the embarrassment that had grown like weeds inside of her. There was no way Yang was right. She absolutely did not have feelings for Ruby. Just because her heart felt like it did weird things whenever she was around didn't mean anything. She was not going to give Yang the satisfaction of being right. Her and Ruby were just friends, nothing more. Besides, she was positive that Ruby felt the same way. If Ruby had anything close to a crush on her, she surely would have noticed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ugh, I can't believe Valentine's Day snuck up on me like this!" Ruby pressed her forehead against the nearest tree, threatening to bonk the two of them together. Luckily, Blake was there to keep her from doing anything too stupid. "How did I not realize what month it was?! I was so focused on trying to be a good leader, and all of the Grimm attacks, and it just..." She shrugged her shoulders helplessly, pulling her head away to look at Blake. "I've gotta figure out what to do, and fast!"
"I think you're taking this too seriously," Blake responded, arms crossed as she watched Ruby run the gamut of emotional distress. The two of them had only been about halfway through their training when Blake had decided to put a stop to it. Ruby was clearly distracted, and they weren't going to get anything done unless she let out what was going on. It had been easier than she had expected, to be honest: the moment she put a halt to the training and asked Ruby why she was so distracted, everything came out. "This is Weiss we're talking about here. She has the romantic range of an Ursa."
"But she's rich, Blake! And cultured too. She probably has all these expectations of what Valentine's Day should be, and I don't know if I can fulfill them." Sighing, Ruby dropped down onto the grass, leaning against the tree. Truth be told, she'd had feelings for Weiss for quite some time now. It had happened so naturally that she didn't even question it. She just knew that Weiss was the one for her. Now, her being the one for Weiss? That was the tricky part.
"Yes, but have you ever seen her show any ounce of interest in those romantic trappings?" It was hard to believe that she was involved in this conversation. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she had her feet in Weiss's camp on this one. Valentine's Day wasn't that important to her. Even though she had a partner, having one specific day to shower each other in love was superfluous. It did make sense that the two sisters would feel differently, though. They were alike in more ways than one might expect. "Besides, she already likes you. You doing anything for her will be fine."
"Wait, what?!" Ruby shot up like a rocket, staring at Blake with wide, disbelieving eyes. "She likes me?!" Suddenly she was right in front of Blake, grabbing her shoulders with a pleading expression. "Blake, how could she like me?! I'm the weird kid who knocked over all her stuff and stole her leadership role! There's no way! I mean, sure, she's become nicer to me over these last few months, but..." She scratched her head, then started furiously running her fingers through her hair. "For real?! Weiss Schnee likes me?!"
"Do you know any other Weisses?" Blake replied dryly. Though she had grown used to the antics of her teammates over their time together, she still often felt the struggle to best help them. Being a psychiatrist or a sounding board wasn't something she ever grew up being. She could barely understand Yang sometimes, and she loved her. Trying to figure out how to tie together the unnecessary dance Ruby and Weiss were always going through took less shots from Gambol Shroud than she was used to. "Have you really not noticed all the times she's openly stared at you?"
"Well, no..." Ruby tapped her fingers together awkwardly, a hint of pink on her cheeks. "But I've stared at her all the time! I would've noticed if she did too, right?" Blake just stared impassively at her, which told her all she needed to know. "Oh... But, I... We..." She sputtered out multiple attempts at a proper sentence, but kept failing. "Me and Weiss? She likes me? I-I have to do something huge for her, then!"
"You really aren't listening to me." Sighing, Blake rubbed her temples. This was a lot of trouble for a relationship that she was sure would end up highly combustible. Truthfully, she had never understood Ruby's infatuation for Weiss. It had always been patently obvious, but... why? Yes, Weiss had become a nicer, more understanding person over their time as teammates, but she was still a Schnee, no matter how many changes she tried to make. Her and Ruby were just such different people.
"I gotta get started!" Ruby shouted, inadvertently admitting that she wasn't listening. "We'll practice later, okay? I promise! I gotta figure out what to do for Weiss, though! She'll want to date me for sure after this!" In a flash, she was gone, leaving a few rose petals in her wake. Blake just sighed, flicking a petal that was floating down in front of her.
"How are we going to survive these two trying to ask each other out?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'This is ridiculous!'  Weiss was in the shower, washing off the sweat and grime from her and Yang's intense training session. Standing underneath the shower head, she was stewing from what Yang had told her while they were taking a break. 'She doesn't know anything! I don't have feelings for Ruby!' Yang thought she was so smart, and that she knew everything. Well this time, she was dead wrong. Just because she thought that she had caught Weiss staring at Ruby a few times didn't amount to anything.
Okay, so maybe she was finding herself more respectful towards Ruby in recent times. Despite her original hang-ups, Ruby had proven herself to be a competent leader. While she didn't have the leadership style Weiss would have, it did seem to work for her. All four of them had become some kind of family, as odd as that may sound. Sure, she and Ruby were closer than she was with Blake or Yang, but that was just because they were partners. It was only natural that they would be more comfortable with each other.
She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to shake the words that Yang had said out of her brain, but she couldn't. That obnoxious woman was now making her revisit her prior interactions with Ruby in a new light, and she didn't like what she was coming to realize. She couldn't stop thinking of Ruby now: the way she led the team, the way she threw herself into everything she did, the way her eyes shined when she smiled-
'Stop it!'  she scolded herself, stepping out of the way of the water. This entire concept was ridiculous, and she was being ridiculous for even entertaining it. Ruby was her partner on their team, and that was all. There was nothing going on between them in terms of romance. They didn't like each other like Yang thought they did. Besides, there was no way someone like Ruby would like someone like her. Especially after all the times she had treated Ruby so poorly in the past.
Wait, what was she saying? Was she feeling guilty? Sure, she had been a bit hard to handle in the past, but she had definitely improved since them. She had told Ruby early on that she would be the best teammate Ruby ever had, and she felt that she had lived up to her side of the bargain. There was no reason to feel any sort of negativity towards how she acted in the past.
Then why did she feel like it didn't make any sense for Ruby to like her? She placed a hand on her chest, feeling her heart beating faster just from the thought of her team leader. That made her frown, wondering just what in the world was going on. Yang couldn't possibly have a point. She didn't like Ruby, right? At least, not like Yang was saying she did. Sure, she liked her as a partner, and as a friend, but more than that? Blasphemous.
And yet, now all she was thinking about was Ruby. She was the only thing on her mind. Maybe, just maybe she'd had a few stray thoughts about Ruby. Just a few, mind you! It wasn't wrong to think of other people, even if it wasn't something to be expected of her. She was too much of an aloof princess to be thinking of other people, especially in ways that would make her blush from embarrassment. Which was why she absolutely was not thinking of someone as cute as Ruby-
Oh, who was she kidding? Shutting her eyes, she slid down onto the shower floor, hiding her head on her knees as the water kept falling around her. It was a terrible thing to admit, but... Yang was right, dammit! She did like Ruby! More than was appropriate, and more than she should. How long had she held such feelings for Ruby? She honestly wasn't sure, as she'd been so adamant on denying the truth that her mind had completely wiped out any exact dates. All she knew was that it had been a problem for longer than she cared to admit.
The truth was, she held back on those feelings for a bigger reason than having Yang tease her endlessly for them. She had come to realize just how wonderful and innocent of a soul Ruby was. Of course, that might have been because she made it into Beacon two years early, but she knew that it was more than that. She just lived her entire life with an incredible amount of optimism: more than Weiss had ever seen in her life. The way she had taken Weiss on as a partner and dealt with all of her crap for so long was impressive, to say the least. She knew for a fact that she didn't have so much patience. How many times had she lost her temper with Ruby and said something she didn't mean? Too many times to count. In all of those moments, never once had Ruby raised her voice at her or admonished her in return. She had patience well beyond her years, and cared so much more than could possibly fit inside her body.
To think of herself having something resembling a romantic relationship with Ruby was laughable, but not because of the reasons she would say out loud. Not for any of the reasons she would think of either, when she was trying to strong-arm her brain into ignoring the truth. In reality, she didn't deserve Ruby. How could someone who had been so rude to Ruby turn around and say she deserved her? It was a laughable concept. Honestly, there were so many problems with her thinking that she could be in a relationship with Ruby that it made her laugh out loud. That laughter was lost in the sea of tears that were falling from her eyes, however.
She stayed in the shower crying for longer than she intended. It was unusual for her to zone out like she had, but when she returned to reality, she was momentarily confused about where she was. When she realized that the shower was still running, she stood up to turn it off. Then she just stood there, staring at the floor with an empty expression while water dripped off her body and down the drain.
For the first time in her life, she needed to talk to Yang. She needed advice from Yang. Admitting what she was going to admit was going to be embarrassing: worse, it would be terrifying. However, if she wanted to stop the crazy thoughts that were swirling around her head in that moment, she knew Yang was the only person she could talk to. Stepping out of the shower she wrapped a towel around her body and her hair, tightening them up before walking slowly into the dorm room.
"Wow, even for you that was a long shower," Yang remarked, looking up from her scroll. However, her teasing petered off when she saw Weiss standing there in a towel with a dejected look on her face. "Hey, uh, you alright?" She expected Weiss to say that she was, and that she needed to mind her own business. When she gave her head a slight shake, that was when Yang knew something was wrong.
Immediately she was on her feet, heading over to put an arm around Weiss's shoulder. "Hey, hey, what's wrong, Weiss?" She guided Weiss over to Ruby's bed, where the two of them sat down next to each other. While waiting for Weiss to respond, she gently rubbed her shoulders, trying to make her feel more comfortable. This was Weiss she was dealing with. Something major was obviously going on for her to be in such a state in front of other people.
"You were right," Weiss whispered, unable to look Yang in the eye. "I like Ruby. I've tried so hard to not think about those feelings, and they suddenly ate me up inside while I was taking my shower." She clutched her towel to her body, feeling tears threatening to come out again. The last thing she wanted to do in that moment was cry in front of someone, even if she was spilling her secrets to them. "It's terrible, Yang..."
"How is that terrible?" Yang blinked in confusion, wondering what the hell Weiss was talking about. Hearing that Weiss did have feelings for her sister was great! She had been right, and since she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ruby felt the same, her job as Cupid was going to be super easy. "That's great! Think about it: it's Valentine's Day soon. That'll be the perfect day for you to confess your feelings to Ruby. She's going to be so happy!"
"I doubt it," she scoffed, shaking her head sadly. "After the way I've treated her, there's no way she would feel the same about me."
"What are you talking about? Of course she likes you!" Yang was being thrown for a loop. No, several loops, like one of those roller coaster-building simulators she played on the school computer as a kid. Hearing the complete lack of confidence in Weiss's voice was foreign to her. It was like someone else was talking, and using Weiss like a ventriloquist dummy.
"I didn't say she didn't. I'm saying she won't feel the same about me as I do about her." Weiss shrugged off Yang's arm, standing up to head back to the bathroom. "She likes me as a friend and as a teammate. That's all I can expect from her, and I should be able to respect that." As she was walking away, Yang just watched her in complete disbelief. She suddenly jumped up and ran after Weiss, grabbing the bathroom door before she could lock herself in.
"Woah, woah, hold up! You really think Ruby doesn't like you like that?"
"I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it."
"That's debatable, but anyway, you're wrong. Ruby does like you. She likes you a whole lot. Honestly, the two of you are the last to know that you like each other." It was a wonder either of those girls were as smart as they were. When it came to picking up on romantic cues from their literal team partner, they sure were dumb. Being Cupid wasn't as easy as she imagined. She needed a long vacation after Valentine's Day.
"Did you not hear anything that I said? There is nothing about me that she could possibly be interested in. You've been around me long enough to know how difficult I am, haven't you?" She was huffy enough that she somehow avoided the embarrassment of admitting that she was a difficult person to get along with. Ironically, she was being difficult about being difficult. That was just the way a Schnee worked.
"Well, yes. You are the most difficult person I've ever met." She laughed at how Weiss glared at her, as if she hadn't been the one to bring up the topic. "It doesn't matter what I think, though. I'm not the one trying to get with you. That's all Rubes, and she is definitely into you. I promise you, if you ask her out on Valentine's Day, she'll say yes. That's a Yang Xiao Long promise, and those are ironclad, my lady."
"I'm sure they are." Weiss rolled her eyes, still holding doubts about Yang's words. However, it did give her enough doubt towards her own doubt to make her wonder if she should take that advice. Maybe she should actually do something for Ruby for Valentine's Day. There was a first time for everything, after all. If she got rejected, though? If Yang was wrong? She would be laughed out of Beacon. "Can I go dry off or what?"
"Sure, sure," Yang laughed, stepping aside to let Weiss into the bathroom. "Think about it, Weiss!" Weiss just rolled her eyes and shut the door, making sure to lock it before she set about getting fully dried off. Now she couldn't stop thinking about what Yang had said. Ruby liked her? As in, she really liked her? That seemed too incredulous to believe, and yet Yang had said it without a hint of teasing. It was one of those moments where she was being serious, and it made Weiss question if her doubts were wrong. Maybe Ruby actually did like her. If she did, then wouldn't she be a fool for not at least attempting to ask her out?
What if Yang was wrong, though? Or at least, what if she was overstating things? If she tried this on Valentine's Day of all days, and she was rejected, she would never live it down. Even if only Ruby and herself knew the truth, she'd be driven to insanity thinking about how mortifying her life had become. Yang had seemed so sure, though... Augh, this was so confusing! Why did romance even exist?
She leaned against the sink, staring at her reflection and sighing deeply. This was going to take some figuring out, and she didn't have much time to do it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'I can't believe I'm doing this.'  Weiss was walking towards the dorms, trying to swallow the lump that had formed in her throat. It was Valentine's Day, and she had finished up one last practice of her glyphs. She had come up with this grand plan to show Ruby just how much she meant to her, and she had gone out of her way to make sure everything would go off without a hitch. That didn't make her any less nervous, though.
'I can't believe I'm doing this!'  Ruby was jogging out of the dorms, too excited to take things at a regular pace. She had come up with this great idea for how to ask Weiss to be her valentine, and it felt romantic while still having her own personal charm. Her entire being was vibrating with excitement over what could happen and nervousness over being rejected. Blake had convinced her that her feelings were mutual, though, so she was ready to go for broke that day.
As it turned out, the two of them were inadvertently heading right for each other. They saw each other across the courtyard, both of them stopping with wide eyes. The two of them stood in place, as if waiting for the other to make a move. Eventually, they just decided that it was pointless to wait, which meant they ended up walking towards each other again at the same time.
"Ruby," Weiss greeted courteously, feeling her drive to speak her mind falling apart. Staring into those wide, bright silver eyes, she felt like she could see everything she admired about Ruby on display, and it was blinding. It made her feel as if all of her faults were being exposed, proving that there was no way she could ever deserve someone like her.
"Hey Weiss," Ruby responded awkwardly, scratching her head. "I, uh..." She swallowed nervously, attempting to shake herself out of those feelings. "I wanted to show you something, if you weren't too busy. I mean, if you are, that's okay. I can show you another time. Even though it's Valentine's Day, and it's kinda a Valentine's Day thing..." She just kept rambling and rambling, but Weiss was focused on Ruby's mentioning that she wanted to show her something for Valentine's Day. Could it really be true?
"Ruby, if there's something you wanted to give to me for Valentine's Day, wouldn't it be best to not wait until Valentine's Day is over?" She found herself smirking slightly when she saw realization cross Ruby's face. "Besides, I... I also have something that I wanted to show you." Now the smirk was gone, and she was feeling just as awkward as Ruby.
"Is it for Valentine's Day?" There was so much hope in Ruby's voice. Weiss could only nod, her vocal chords deciding they didn't want to work anymore. That made Ruby's eyes light up, and her entire demeanor changed. "Oh, oh goodness, oh, okay, okay! Well, can I show you mine first? I promise it's worthwhile! I mean, I hope it's worthwhile. You can tell me if you don't like it. It's okay if you don't-"
"Ruby, you're rambling again." Somehow, it actually made her feel better to hear Ruby going off the rails. At least she wasn't the only one struggling to get the right words out. "Yes, you can show me whatever it is you have." There was a worry that, if Ruby's gift was so much better than her own, she would be outstaged before getting to show what she had. Though, if she went first, and then Ruby blew her out of the water afterwards, she'd still be in the same boat.
"Okay! Well then, uh... I need you to hold onto my hand." Weiss stared at her skeptically, which she seemed to have expected. "I know it's weird, but I need to use my semblance, and it'll only work if both of us are moving together." She held out her hand, looking Weiss right in the eyes. "Do you trust me?" Well, when she put it like that, how was she supposed to say otherwise?
"Of course I trust you." Rolling her eyes, she grabbed Ruby's hand and held on tight. "You owe me a new wardrobe if I throw up." Ruby giggled, both of them knowing that Weiss wouldn't follow through on that threat. Squeezing Weiss's hand, Ruby gave her one last reassuring look before activating her semblance.
Suddenly, the world was passing them by like someone had smashed the fast forward button. Everything in the courtyard was a blur, flying around so fast that Weiss was forced to close her eyes. She kept them closed even after the world stopped spinning, which meant that Ruby had to gently tap her shoulder before she would open them again.
When she opened her eyes, they immediately widened. Floating in the air above them was a heart, created out of red and white petals. As the petals slowly floated down to the ground, she looked over at Ruby. She was practically bursting at the seams, trying to see whether or not Weiss actually liked it.
"Ruby, I..." She was fascinated by the white petals dancing along with Ruby's normal red petals. Was that why she needed her: to get those specific petals? "It's beautiful..." She was in awe of what Ruby had created. Her semblance had always been useful, but she hadn't expected to see it be used for something so artistic. It was making her heart thump loudly.
"Really? I'm glad you think so!" There was a blush on Ruby's face, which was a rare sight to see. Normally she was fine with anything she did, even if it embarrassed her. "I wanted to do something special for you, but I didn't know what to get you. I mean, you're rich and all, and you can have anything you want! This was my best idea for something that you might not have." She tapped her foot on the ground, looking at Weiss hopefully.
"I assure you that I don't need anything special." She shook her head fondly, turning to watch the petals continue to fall. They hit the ground and started drifting away on the breeze. "You're right, though: I am rich, and I can get anything I want, so... it's nice to receive something that only you can give me." She started to blush, but she felt compelled to keep speaking. "It's actually not important to me what it is that you give me. It's just... important that it comes from you."
"Oh, well then, I guess that was a pretty good gift, then." Ruby giggled, blushing deeper. "I was hoping you'd like it, and that it'd make you want to be my Valentine." Something Weiss had come to notice about Ruby was that when she was bored or nervous, she would fidget in place. The more she would fidget, the more bored or nervous she was. At that moment, she was shaking so much, it looked like she was about to disappear in a blur. "I-If you want to, of course!"
It was hard to believe what she was hearing. After all those days suffering through her insecurities, wondering if Ruby really would want to be with someone like her, it turned out she wasn't the only one in such a mood. Not only did Ruby want to be her Valentine, but she was nervous about her saying no. Out of all the ridiculous thoughts... She couldn't believe how it had come to this.
"Unbelievable..." When she noticed Ruby was staring at her, she shook her head and prepared to put her own plan into action. "Ruby, rather than answering that, I think it would be better if I showed you what I wanted to give you. Is that alright?" Ruby nodded, suddenly mute. It was cute in a way. "Alright, please stand back." Doing as she was told, Ruby gave her room to work. She pulled out Myrtenaster and started her summoning.
A glyph formed beneath her as she stuck her sword into it. Ruby watched with wide eyes as an icy knight appeared in front of her, holding what appeared to be a bouquet of flowers. The knight bent down on one knee, offering the flowers to her. She took them, stunned into silence. They were cool to the touch, but she didn't mind. All she could do was continue staring at the icy flowers in her hands.
"Woah... That's incredible!" She was positively beaming, smiling brightly around the knight at Weiss. "That was awesome, Weiss! I didn't know you could summon this kinda thing!" She put the flowers up to her nose and sniffed them. They smelled like ice. "I thought you could only summon things that you defeated."
"That's true..." She started to sweat internally, deciding it was best to not mention how she had demolished an entire garden of flowers the day before in order to get that summon to work. "B-But anyway, I wasn't sure what to get you either. I wanted to give you something that was special, but I've never done this kind of thing before." If she wasn't careful, she was going to start rambling like Ruby did. "I hope you appreciate the effort." Wait, that sounded rude. "That didn't come out like I meant it to..."
"It's okay, Weiss," Ruby giggled, stepping past the knight to stand in front of Weiss. "I really like the flowers, but I like that they came from you more." She couldn't stop staring at Weiss, which let her see that Weiss couldn't either. That was what gave her the confidence to say what she wanted to say. "So, does that mean you want to be my Valentine, Weiss?"
"Yes. I would love nothing more than to be your Valentine." Smiling, Weiss let her summon dissipate. The knight disappeared, as well as the flowers in Ruby's hands. However, the cool feeling still remained tingling on her skin. Both of their gifts had disappeared on the wind, but the sights remained imprinted on their memories. "If you will be my Valentine as well."
"Yes!" Ruby grabbed Weiss and pulled her into a tight hug, surprising her when she lifted her off the ground. "Yes yes yes! I want to be your Valentine, Weiss!" She started to spin Weiss around, having a deceptive amount of strength in those arms. That's what happened when she lugged around a heavy metal scythe as a weapon.
"Ruby! Put me down this instant!" She was finally put down after another couple of spins, and she made sure to glower at Ruby for that. However, she couldn't stay mad at her for too long. After all, they were officially Valentines. That was something she hadn't believed could ever be true just that morning.
"So, now that we're Valentines... what do we do?" Still nervous despite their current status as Valentines, Ruby was bouncing from foot to foot, as if she was trying to get some quick cardio in while they spoke.
"We don't have to do anything. Isn't it just enough that we're together?" Weiss smoothed down her skirt, rolling her eyes at Ruby's wild behavior. "Besides, I don't think either of us know what we're supposed to do now that we've told each other how we feel."
"Well, I can think of one thing." Ruby smiled, suddenly looking very shy. It didn't suit her at all. "Maybe, now that we're Valentines and all, we could maybe... kiss?" They both blushed one after the other, with Ruby realizing what she had just asked and Weiss realizing what had been asked of her.
"I suppose that would be a good way of consummating us being Valentines." She couldn't stop blushing, not wanting to admit that she really just wanted to kiss Ruby, regardless of what day it was. Her lips looked so inviting... "If you're going to kiss me, then hurry up and do it."
"Yes ma'am!" Ruby put her hands on Weiss's shoulders and kissed her, not even thinking about what she was doing. Of course, Weiss was overthinking things, and she didn't reciprocate at first. All she could do was think of the fact that Ruby's lips were on hers. She was actually kissing Ruby. They were Valentines, Ruby liked her, and she was kissing her. This couldn't be real, could it?
It felt real, though. There was no doubt that the soft, pliable lips pressed against her own were Ruby's. That was when she finally kissed her back, letting her hands fall to Ruby's hips as they both got lost in each other's lips. They didn't pull away until they both were losing their breath. Gasping for air, they looked in each other's eyes, neither of them able to deny the truth in their gazes. They both really did like each other, and there wasn't a need to worry anymore. At least, not about starting a relationship, anyway.
"So, shall we go back to the dorm, Valentine?" Ruby giggled, loving the way that sounded on the tip of her tongue. It made her feel a tingling sensation on her lips, and she wanted to say it again and again. So of course, she did. "Valentine. Valentine..."
"Yes yes, I think we get the picture." Weiss cut her off, blushing somewhat. She was smiling, though, happy to hear those words coming from Ruby's mouth. It made everything feel more real. If there had been any doubts about what she was to Ruby, they were gone in that moment. Ruby wanted to be her Valentine, and she found herself believing her a hundred percent. "Yes, let's return to the dorm, Valentine."
"Eeee!" Squealing excitedly, Ruby took Weiss's hand and headed back towards the dorms. Rolling her eyes fondly, Weiss followed her, holding onto her hand the entire way. Neither of them felt like letting go, even if some of their fellow hunters and huntresses saw them. It would be quite the gossip, they were sure, but in that moment, neither of them cared. Today was Valentine's Day, and that meant it was just about the two of them. What other people thought didn't matter.

THIS IS NOT GRUVIA
“Gray-samaaa!”
A barely smothered flinch was the only second Gray had before too familiar arms wrapped themselves around him. His skin crawled as he fought to speak around the discomfort.
“Juvia…” He acknowledged, not comprehending how she could have so much energy at 8 in the morning.
“Gray-sama! Did you wake up early just to see Juvia?” Her wide eyes bore into his, like they were trying to uncover all the secrets he kept far, far down, trying to force him into a spotlight where he had no place.
“No.” Gray replied shortly, finally managing to push her away from him. Side-stepping her, he sped over to the bar, drawing in a breath of relief when she kept a respectable distance from him.
“Then what is Gray-sama doing at the guild so early?” Juvia muttered, and Gray could practically hear the cogs turn in her head, and when a gasp fled out of her, all he could do was sit back and watch as their exchange played out like clockwork. “Could it be Gray-sama is here to go on a date with Love Rival?! Gray-samaaa! How could you?”
Already, all he wanted to do was to escape the walls of the guild, and frankly, even Mira’s coffee was starting to sound less appealing than avoiding this topic all together.
“No.” Was all he could say, shooting Mira a grateful look when she slid his drink over. “Thanks, see you later.”
“Good luck on your mission.” The barmaid smiled warmly.
But it wouldn’t be that easy, would it? Of course not! That would be the universe giving him a break from this craziness!
“Oi, Ice Boy! Why can’t you just give her a chance?” Droy called out, the words barely coherent around his grilled cheese.
“Yeah, it would make the guild a lot quieter, besides, then she’d stop harassing you!” Would she though?
His shoulders rose higher as he stalked out of the hall without so much as a glance, the cup shaking in his tightening grip.
It wasn’t that easy!
“Morning, Gray!” Lucy smiled, waving from her place next to Erza, the redhead mumbling excitedly about how she was finally getting through to ‘one of them’. Gray didn’t have the heart to tell her that this was less about being on time and more about not being stifled. Still, he wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth, as he used the guise of her rambling to calm down whilst they waited for their tardy teammates to finally show up.
By the time Natsu finally showed up, Gray was feeling calm enough to actually tease him. Erza’s punishment whilst Happy squeaked and tried to hide behind Lucy was amusing and as they stepped onto the train, Gray felt himself unwind.
At the same time… it broke his heart to realise that Magnolia was starting to feel more and more like a prison.
The train journey was punctuated by a normalcy that he didn’t think he’d ever get tired of, as the mission briefing was started, interrupted only by Natsu’s lovely croaks, and concluded. They lapsed into silence when Natsu finally fell unconscious, with Lucy falling asleep shortly after and Erza and Happy entertaining themselves with their preferred meals.
At some point in the journey, the train banked a little too hard and Gray graciously swooped in to stop Lucy from being rudely awoken by the floor. She slumped over in her sleep and her head came to rest on his shoulder. The blond smiled at whatever dreams she was having and Gray returned the smile, fondly, as he contently resigned himself to being a pillow for her. This was where he felt most at home, surrounded by his smiling team (save for Natsu), where he didn’t have to meet any expectations and he could just be Gray.
From the first time they had all travelled and worked together, Gray had known that this was why he had been born. To be with his team. To travel and see the world. To just exist alongside his family.
If only it could last…
“Gray-sama! Juvia is so glad you made it back safely!” Juvia squealed in delight, reaching out to hug him again. Disinterest ran through him as he side-stepped the assault and let his gaze drop to the floor. Why did he have to be here to give the mission statement?
“Thanks.” He muttered with as little sincerity as he could muster. It felt like every time he spoke to her, he was stepping onto a minefield, never knowing what could set her off into the mindset that ‘she was getting closer to winning over her darling Gray-sama’ or into tears when he shot down her attempts again and again.
“Oh, please! Ice Block barely did anything, I was awesome!” Natsu jeered.
“You don’t get to say anything! We would’ve had our full reward if you hadn’t gone and set fire to that rose bush! At least Gray didn’t lose us our pay!” Lucy snapped grumpily, glaring over at him.
And that was that, Gray supposed, grimacing as he watched Juvia straighten up to her full height.
“Love Rival only says that because she’s jealous! Well, Juvia always believed in Gray, so-”
He couldn’t do this anymore. Spinning on his heel, he moved to walk out, praying to any God that would have mercy on him to let him get away.
“And where are you going?” Erza called across the hall.
“Home.” He replied, not looking back, tension radiating across his body.
“Is Gray-sama tired? Juvia can come and walk him home and cook him some dinner, and-”
“No, Juvia, just… no.” He ground out, but of course it wasn’t that fucking easy.
“Oi! Don’t just dismiss Juvia like that!” Gajeel barked, his voice echoing around the room, and suddenly all eyes were on him and now there was no hope of escape.
“Don’t yell at Gray-sama, Gajeel-san! Juvia is sure he’s just tired from the mission!” Juvia tried to defend and God, couldn’t she just shut UP?
The hall fell into a hush of gasps and softly spoken curses, and it took a moment to realise that he had said that aloud. Turning back around, his heart clenched at the broken way Juvia was retreating, looking at him, so utterly betrayed.
“You’re being more callous than usual, be a man and face her!” Elfman called.
“I have-”
“Ignoring her and making her feel like shit isn’t facing her.” Jet growled.
“I-”
“Why should we have expected any less from him? All he ever cares about is himself! Heartless bastard!” Gajeel snarled, he was up and moving, as if to threaten Gray and force him into accepting. As the enraged eyes bore into his skull, he felt the tension suddenly give way and there was nothing he could do but watch as his mouth finally opened, as the words finally came out, and tremors broke out across his body as he felt his home potentially being ripped away. Again.
“WHY?”
Gajeel stopped short as blazing cobalt eyes matched his anger, beat for beat.
“Was last time not good enough?” Gray yelled, hands curling into fist whilst frost crept out around him, keeping everyone back. “I have faced her, I told her ‘no’ at the fucking Grand Magic Games! I told her no, but she didn’t listen. None of you did!”
“So why should I face her if my ‘no’ doesn’t mean shit? And why shouldn’t she have taken my ‘no’? It doesn’t mean anything! As far as anyone here is concerned, what she wants is a perfectly good reason to ignore what I want. I’ve been telling her no from the get-go,” He whirled around to look Juvia in the eyes. “I’m not interested.”
“But that doesn’t matter. Of course not! Because it’s perfectly reasonable to say that her happiness can come at the cost of mine. And why shouldn’t she think that? None of you have ever told her no, either. None of you have told her that making a shrine of me in her apartment is creepy as hell, that stalking me and guilt tripping me and harassing any one I so much as look at is unacceptable. Erza, Cana, Elfman, Gajeel, Jet, Droy, you’ve all told me to give her an answer, and I have but because it isn’t ‘yes’ it doesn’t hold any weight.”
Everyone was frozen. Everyone was watching him, horrified and surprised, some even look betrayed, and each and every one of them cut through him until it felt like he was bleeding. Here it was. He had known it would only be a matter of time before he screwed up with this family, too. He was the end of his time as a Fairy Tail mage but Gray couldn’t make himself look away, like some sick need to watch his own self-destruction from beginning to end.
“So tell me…” His voice shook and cracked, but it was the only evidence of his inner turmoil. He still stood strong, fists clenched, eyes blazing, muscles taut. “What else can I do to get it through to you all that I’m not interested in relationships, full stop, nevermind her?”
He could feel the tears.
They were coming and there was nothing he could do to stop them.
All he could do was postpone them as he waited for their answer.
“Gray-” Lucy started. He swallowed thickly at the way her eyes were watering, but still, he held up a finger.
“Stop.” He whispered, almost pleading. “I don’t want an apology until you know what you’re apologising for.”
She fell silent, her hands twitching and Gray knew she wanted to give him a hug. He didn’t allow it.
An apology was on his lips, as the little boy inside him wanted to steal all the words back out of the air before he lost yet another family, and he could feel the trembling growing more and more violent. Why was he still stood there?!
“Goodnight.” He whispered, turning to walk out for real this time.
“Gray, wait-”
“No, Erza,” He sighed, deflating a little. “I’ll be back tomorrow, you can decide what you want from me then.”
Stepping into the night felt like swallowing knives, and God, he couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t believe he just spilled out his heart to the guild. He couldn’t believe that he had really gone and told them. He couldn’t believe that they really thought he was just being a dick this whole time.
He couldn’t breathe.
And he didn’t know where he was going.
He didn’t stop walking until he couldn’t see the glow of Magnolia on the horizon, anymore.
He collapsed in a cave near the base of Mt. Hakobe and he let the tears fall.
